Treating a Rescued Kitten with Multiple Health Issues

Two of my now former ferals were trapped for TNR at 4 months old but were not put back outside because they were found to have lungworm. It was treated successfully and then immediately they had herpes which was also treated. Even though the male was very aggressive, the decision was made to...

Is she actually a black domestic shorthair cat?

Few cats actually show true black ( brownish is common as mentioned by Amethyst) in the sunlight, but are still considered black. So keep considering those "black cat" names!

    Fostering after loss

At our rescue, fosters do not stay at the foster home long term unless they have "special needs" as you mentioned in your post. A typical friendly adult would probably be in foster 4-6 weeks or less. I suggest you check with your local rescues.

Tips for socialising feral cats in a shelter environment?/ongoing news and issues

Did I mess up not releasing 2 kittens?

They seem very relaxed in the pictures and you can hold and pet them. I believe in a month or two (or perhaps sooner) they will be well socialized and very adoptable. (they are beautiful kittens!) Thank you for saving them.

    Cat Behavior Consultant

Our rescue uses a cat behaviorist who works free of charge. She has helped. Did you get your kitten from a rescue? If so, I would start with a call to the rescue.

Tips for socialising feral cats in a shelter environment?/ongoing news and issues

Is Revolution available in your country? It treats for hook worm and round worm and you just apply it on the back of the kitten's neck. the kitten must be at least 2.8 lbs. It is rather expensive.

Tips for socialising feral cats in a shelter environment?/ongoing news and issues

I celebrate your progress! The kittens seem to be progressing well. Once GG and Tabby see all the fun Boyo is having playing with the wand, they are sure to join in. I too am saddened by their mom's PTS. You did your best. Where are you located? Here most shelters/rescues are no kill...

10 week old kittens suckling each other suddenly/Rowdy behavior noticed

Where are they suckling? Be careful as sometimes they will suckle another kitten's penis. That's causes issues for the poor little boy.
