    FINAL UPDATE: Fern is three weeks post-op and doing great. There were no complications - she just had a particularly lumpy reaction to her sutures.

    UPDATE: Just wanted to update for future visitors who may come across my photos: all turned out to be normal and Fern is recovering fine. The vet said the lump was just a suture reaction, and it has continue to go down of the last several days.

    Thank you for your input. She lets us touch it, and it does not feel warm, and she stays relaxed while we're looking at it. She seems to be in good spirits. We'll continue to monitor obsessively ;)
