I wanted to post a follow up on this thread...we ended up adopting Mushu about 10 days ago and things are going GREAT! Klaus no longer picks on Stormy and he loves his new playmate! He finally has a cat to play with and it confirmed that he was acting out of boredom, not aggression. Stormy is...
Thank you for your response! I agree that equal access to resources is important. We have 3 cat trees and some vertical space which I think helps too. My cats kind of have "their spots" in the apartment which works out for them. I'm glad all of your boys get along!
Chewing on non-food things is not unusual for cats, but it's also not a good thing especially if they not only chew it but swallow it. One of mine is obsessed with anything stringy, my other will chew plastic bags like your Bailey (she's very cute by the way!).
Definitely continue to put the...
Everyone has already given good advice so I don't have much to add other than my cautionary tale.
My string obsessed cat had a to have surgery a few weeks ago because he ate the thin long strip of flannel string from a cat wand toy. I knew he had a problem with eating stringy things so was...
Thank you, your situation does sound a lot like ours. Because our two boys now aren't out to kill each other or anything, they do get along most of the time. Klaus is just super energetic and Stormy just likes to keep to himself. So glad it worked out with your kitties
Oh yeah, we could wait until we move and that would take away that issue. Mushu is just pulling at my heart and seems like a good fit which is why I'm considering it. Otherwise I was just planning on waiting until we move anyway.
But I'm not sure if I agree about the second part. I feel like...
Great point about the music/app! I'll check them out.
Thank you, I will look for that thread too! That definitely is something else to think about considering we will be moving. I could see how it's better/worse both ways.
Cats would be out of the apartment by the time we move out. We have places they could temporarily be held at while we move while janitor/maintenance would be there. We do need to replace the blinds (thanks, Klaus) but they already know we have 2 cats anyway. Other than that everything is fine...
I've posted about this before but we decided against getting a third at that time. My husband was not for it at that time but recently has expressed openness to getting a third.
We are in an apartment with a max of 2 and our landlord is very hands off/lives off property and there are never...
Yeah we did about a week introduction with them, but I think I could have done longer. My younger cat was desperate to get out of his safe room and explore though lol.
Haha that seems to be how it goes huh? I'm sure they are all happy to have a home <3
