    Weight Loss HELP

if we fed less then essentially we would be decreasing her water intake as well.. which may affect her kidneys negatively😭 but i guess there really is no other option

    Weight Loss HELP

thanks for the info! i did that math and given that she gets 1/4 cup of duck/rabbit, and 1 nugget of duck, it works out to only about 176.3cal/day?? which def is under what she should be getting?? im so confused. or maybe my conversion is off of how to go from ounces to cups?

    Weight Loss HELP

thanks! i think for now we'll just let her eat only as much as she wants, and not try to get her to finish her food.. cuz she usually needs to be begged to finish everything lol. we're also kinda :/ about decreasing her food intake because essentially that would also decrease her water intake...

    Weight Loss HELP

thanks for the reply! my cat is gaining weight, not losing. if her kidney levels have elevated then she should be losing weight, not gaining. she does not need to gain any weight atm.

    Cancer and constipation

yes over grooming was our main symptom... she had bald patches when we first got her from the spca, and they just told us "it's from a grain allergy, it won't grow back" but as the summer progressed she got less and less hair.. became constipated/decreased in appetite/threw up hairballs... the...

    Cancer and constipation

yes when switching proteins for allergic kitties you need to be sure to check the ingredients! my cat liked the limited ingredient rabbit from nature's variety instinct kibble before we were able to switch her over to dehydrated raw, it kept her allergies at bay, but made her poop REALLY...

    Cancer and constipation

beef is worse (imo) because it's a "warm" food... i do like to rotate it during the cooler months for my cat though, because it keeps her warmer. my cat is very allergic to chicken (i gave her some to try and she literally bit her tummy open from itching..) duck is a good low allergen protein...

    Cancer and constipation

it takes time to switch! if your cat is fixed on chicken it might not be easy... tbh chicken and tuna are both big no nos for cats. chicken is a very very very common allergen.. and tuna, being a top predator of the sea, is very very very high in various toxins

    Acting Strange = Sick ???

thanks for the reply! i was thinking it may also be because she doesn't like it when i try to tell her to sleep in her bed/our room? because she always tries to sleep in the middle of the hallway like a homeless kitty and sometimes i would try to carry her inside😅

IBD and allergy together? Prednisolone shots.

My cat was on prednisolone for about half a year for allergies.. and eventually we were able to wean her off with immunotherapy injections. The dermatologist told us that prednisolone, being a steroid, could be detrimental to cats' livers in the long term, and should not be given as a long term...
