Light pink foamy liquid after big hairball/vomit

Update today: I think it was actually Elizabeth, our 7 year old. She vomitted again in the night but there wasn't a lot of it and there was no blood in it. There's been no more today, and all three cats have eaten and drank water, and are their usual selves.

Light pink foamy liquid after big hairball/vomit

It's so easy to freak out when you see pink coming out of your cat anywhere! But when I think logically about it, when I throw up a lot, or cough a lot, sometimes I get a pink tinge too from an irritated throat! It was very much a case of 'get a torch on it and clean it with white paper' because...

Light pink foamy liquid after big hairball/vomit

We came home from work today to a big vomitty mess from one of our three. There was the main culprit of quite solid half digested food mixed with a bit of hair, really quite a lot of it, and some puddles of liquid dotted around which were mostly yellowish/clear. A few hours later two more little...

Could there be some NFC or Maine Coon in there?

This is Karlach. Karlach is 6 months old and weighs 4.3kg (!!!!). She's a rescue and when we got her, they thought she was male as she was so much bigger than all the other females they rescued. She's very active, very happy and bouncy and while she's a little padded around the midrift, I can...

    Chronic dandruff

    Chronic dandruff

This is a VERY belated response as I just stumbled across this again from months ago. He's 4, with no arthritis. The dandruff seemed to settle down a bit over the summer, now that it's getting chillier again, it seems to be coming back. He still hates the brush, and won't eat his food if I...

    Long or Short haired kitten?

Hi all! Meet our newest edition, Karlach. We adopted her after she had a rough start in life, being rescued from a hoarding house with 30 other cats and kittens all stemming from a few unspayed ladies. She needed a little extra care in foster as she and her sibling were mostly feral when they...

Previously friendly cats now hissing at eachother after introducing new kitten?

Todays progress: Elizabeth comfortable enough to rest on my husbands lap while kitten sits beside them. She only hissed when kitten moved too much, but as long as she was resting, Elizabeth remained relaxed.

Previously friendly cats now hissing at eachother after introducing new kitten?

Excellent! Thank you 😊 I suppose in the meantime we just keep on showing them both as much human love ans attention as they want (it's a lot still, thankfully) and don't make a big deal about it.

Previously friendly cats now hissing at eachother after introducing new kitten?

Thank you for the responses! It's comforting to know this should eventually pass. I think our major hurdle is that Percy is a few fries short of a happy meal (bless his heart, we adore him) and doesn't seem to realise she's angry most of the time, instead taking it as 'Oh! Fun! Play time!'...

Previously friendly cats now hissing at eachother after introducing new kitten?

Hi all! Just after a bit of advice and reassurance. We have this week introduced a new kitten to our family. Elizabeth was always going to be a bit of a process with the introduction, as the big boss cat, we already know she needs a few days to state her position in the herd. Percival was...

    Chronic dandruff

Thank you all! I'll give the fish oil a go, we actually have a fridge full that we got on discount anyway so happy days! As for brushes, we've tried several different types and he just doesn't have it. I give him a forced brush every other week just to keep on top of it but it stresses him out...

    Chronic dandruff

Hello! I was hoping someone might have some advice for dealing with chronic dandruff. Percival suffers with it all along his back but mostly nearly the base of his tail and hates being brushed, so I'm struggling to find a way to deal with it that doesn't distress him. He has the softest fur...

    Embarrassing/Awful Cat Stories

Mine is an ongoing drama. Our boy Percy is a very sweet and loving thing, when he decides to be. Every now and again he decides he REALLY wants a cuddle, and he REALLY enjoys it. Ensue headbutting, purrs, rubbing etc. This sometimes escalates to dribbling. Fine, we can do dribbling, no drama...
