I have been "sleeping" on the floor in the office for the past 5 nights, (since she got home from surgery to remove foreign bodies from her stomach and intestines), so that I can monitor her as well as make sure she is keeping her e-collar on. I haven't gotten more than 3 hours of uninterrupted...
We closed off the office for her. It's the initial room we had her in when we brought her home as a kitten, and the room she feels most comfortable in. I have been sleeping on the floor in here and keeping an eye on her. :)
Settled down, no, quite the opposite! :D It took a little bit longer than I'd hoped but she's starting to get back to herself with more sustainable energy. It seems the majority of her pain is gone, which of course enters in the second, longer part of her recovery... trying to make sure she...
I spoke with another vet tech really early this morning, it seems the vets are less worried about the "breathable" aspect of it and more worried that it wouldn't protect from her chewing at it if she wanted to, and she had pretty major abdominal surgery. In a desperate attempt to get some sleep...
They are being supportive, and I have been going back and forth with them all day and night with ideas, it's just so far none of them have worked. I have ordered a cloth collar to try, and if that doesn't work one of the vets recommended using the cloth collar on backwards with the plastic...
Kaylee has gotten out of her e-collar no matter how tight I tie it and no matter if I tie it around her legs and up over her back (like a harness) or just around her neck. I have tied it so tight that I am uncomfortable with how tight it is (almost doesn't fit two fingers under)... after the 5th...
Kaylee is home now, though she's still pretty out of it. She wasn't eating at the vets, but has eaten a little bit since she got home. She's constantly getting out of her e-collar, even when I tie it like a harness, so we have been keeping an even closer eye on her. I was hoping the vet would...
Kaylee can get any breakaway collar off, but she doesn't get her harness off... it's not breakaway, but I only have it on her when we are taking a walk.
We use this one. We got an extra small one when she was a kitten and it worked wonderfully, when she out-grew it we got another one that was less substantial, and she was able to get out of it with ease so we got her a larger size of the first one. It's padded and comfortable with a reflective...
Luckilly she is unable to get into the drawers we store them in, as they are flush against the cabinet and attached to the wall. They also have a bit of resistance, just enough that she can't get the leverage to open them with the tiny knobs. My SO has been a wreck, I'm pretty sure he's be...
Thank You! It's killing me, but I am refraining from visiting her today, since when I went yesterday it effected her recovery a little.
The hair ties were in various stages of decay. She's 11 months old and has been here with us for 8 of those months, it's pretty likely she's been eating them...
I did that and cleaned,( MAN I had no idea that the stove looked like that underneath!) most of yesterday, though I did take a break to go visit her in the hospital. When the hubby got home he joined in as well.
She is doing well, though she did have a slight hitch in her recovery after I...
