    New kitten in my house!

Meet Arcane. She's 8 weeks old and my daughter brought her home last night. Totally a purring and snuggling machine, she is a velcro girl. She's heading to the vet for a full checkup tomorrow, and I insured her yesterday.

    Hey y'all I'm back...

I just wanted to update everyone on Kairi's health and progress.... He's PERFECT! His hair is growing long, he's getting fatter and peeing like a champ! He "leaks" a little every once and a while, but after his "procedure" I'm ecstatic with the results.  He's back to harassing all of us at any...

    Dry food & male cats

Trust me on this-any urinary issues with a male cat is an absolute nightmare. I fed Kairi dry and wet, but most days, he will not eat the wet food. He loves water, he plays in it, drinks it, splashes it, and soaks his dry food in it. I figured he was taking in enough water. I was wrong. He has...

    Hey y'all I'm back...

So, Kairi hates his meds, but is feeling great. last night he played on my head and then kicked around the litter in the litterbox for awhile. (He loves yesterdays news! I need to use it until he heals, and he thinks it's grand) His incisions look great, and he's gaining back some weight-he...

    Hey y'all I'm back...

WHEW. Well, Kairi reblocked immediately after the catheter was removed, so they had to do the urethrotomy. (This was Wednesday morning) so, I went to visit him yesterday and he was very happy to see me, and purred and head bumped, then he ate and drank. After they removed THAT catheter, he peed...

    Hey y'all I'm back...

Thanks. The vet called last night, and Kairi still hadn't peed on his own. I feel like I'm the one in pain. They will do the surgery this morning, but he said he'd call me before they do it. Hopefully overnight he went on his own. Honestly, I'm going to have to go in there and beg that they...

    Hey y'all I'm back...

and man does Kairi have some problems!  Back in november, he had a bladder infection, and when we did an U/S, you could see a sea of crystals in his bladder. He got antibiotics, and felt infinitely better almost immediately. For this I paid 1380.00. Oy.  Fast forward to Easter- In the morning...

I know this is a cat forum but please if anyone could help me with my mum in laws dog I would be gra

The symptoms scream Pyo or false pregnancy. I hope they get some IV fluids into her right away, and an emergency spay would not be out of the realm. I have always sworn by nutrical for my maltese who leans towards low blood sugar at times, but a bit of lightly cooked chopped meat has also helped...

    Dry food brands help?

I would check the ingredients, some companies for human food change formulas when they sell to regular supermarkets as opposed to specialty markets. I have never seen chicken soup food in the supermarkets out here.

What are you reading? The Sequel.

I just finished the hunger games trilogy. EXCELLENT books!! Now back to my JD Robb "In Death" series. This just infuriates me!

That's true, but they said the cat was still several feet away, and no mention of branches or anything else.(And if someone is being assisted down from a tree, unless the cat perches on his head, the rescuer's gotta get down then back into the tree) I love cats very very much, but to be...

    The Hunger Games (movie)

I loved the first two, but my son is disappointed in the third, so I'm not rushing to read it. The middle school has had "Hunger games" all week after school-the kids run to the cornucopia, they form alliances, they even have a recorded cannon...you get the idea...My 13 year old is SO into it...

    This just infuriates me!

In NYC it's a rare FF that will extend the ladder to get a cat out of a tree. I asked my husband why, and he replied that they are taught that cats CAN get out of trees, off telephone poles, off a roof, or the like. They climb up, they can climb down or jump. Many times a team will spend the...
