I assume it is just a dance of dominance and deciding who is the boss. When Loki (9 month-ish) sees Thor (4 month-ish) approaching, he swats. When he didn't swat, Thor smacked him and Loki backed away. No blood, no growling, only one time hiss. They are doing the same in Thor's room, neutral...
