This post is so funny. Well to be honest, only solution to this problem is if you simply show him how to do it. Show him for few times. He ll learn eventually. If you have already shown him and he has not learned yet then I suppose you should let him do it the way he is doing it.

I just know that cats roll in sand or dust so that any moisture on their fur gets dry. I think its quite natural but cat should not do it excessively. Hopefully change of litter works.

Its a very strange and disturbing behavioral change. I am sure that either your cat has seen something weird around. Try not to leave your cat alone and also try to soothe her. Hopefully she feels better. Also try to give warm milk with honey. It helps to reduce stress.

My cats madly play hide n seek when I place carrier in the room. But the moment I put them inside and close the door, they sense that something is wrong :D

Life becomes so easy with spayed and neutered pets. It is not something cruel because you are doing it to secure the animal. secondly there are many behavioral issues which are resolved by spaying and neutering
