How often do you feed feral/outdoor cats?

I have two ferals that I feed twice a day and also started to have issues with other critters at night. So what i started doing is making sure I do the second feeding before it gets dark and if they don't finish everything I take the bowls, put them in a large ziplock bag and place them in my...

Any tricks to tick treatment/control on feral who won't be touched?

That's what I give my indoor cats. I just wish it wasn't sooo expensive! Holy cow! But I will get something similar to that for my ferals. At least for fleas and ticks. I have been able to really pet BigBoy and he loves it! I know now I can get the stuff on him. Fluffy is slowly getting closer...

Any tricks to tick treatment/control on feral who won't be touched?

I was just thinking that, and i will be doing something this spring for my yard. Unfortunately, I am surrounded by acres of woods...and I know at the very least BigBoy goes and explores there...so...I'm sure that is where most of the problem lies. But regardless, even if I do my yard, which is...

    Change in behaviour

Hi. So I find that cats do better when affection happens on their own terms, and in smaller doses. Maybe he could reel back the affection and give her small doses of light chin rub, butt rub (whatever floats her boat) for literally a couple seconds and then walk away. This way she feels like she...

Any tricks to tick treatment/control on feral who won't be touched?

Hi. I think you sent me a message of this post by mistake, instead of starting a forum feed. Do you feed this cat on a regular basis and now he's hiding? Did something happen to him for him to hide? I think we are all a little confused about your situation as your info is staggered.

Any tricks to tick treatment/control on feral who won't be touched?

That's my plan, I think. LOL. Little by little, I think I may be able to do that without the stress of trapping again. They were NOT happy with that experience! Wish me luck! I'll keep you all posted!

    Black Cats Only

why, thank you! She's my first all black cat and she's the best! I want to adopt ALL of them from the shelters! There are so many black cats that do not get adopted and it makes me so sad. At the shelter where we got her, there were dozens of black cats needing adoption. 😥

Any tricks to tick treatment/control on feral who won't be touched?

Thank you for your feedback. I think I will continue to build trust and I am actually hopeful that, at the very least, I can treat BigBoy, who is shorthaired and easier to see the ticks, in not too long from now. Fluffy, on the other hand, will be a much bigger challenge. However, I wonder...

Any tricks to tick treatment/control on feral who won't be touched?

oh, she's so cute! To answer your above question about the vet, I took them to a mobile unit vet that does only spaying and rabies shots. I haven't involved my own vet yet, but I will at least ask for some advice. I was successful in trapping them with HaveAHart traps in minutes, which was...

    Black Cats Only

This is our sweet Fern. She just turned 1 year old. She became the third addition to our cat family back in June of last year, and we are so lucky to have her in our lives. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate, always prefers to nap close to her humans, and stretches herself up to us so she...
