It could be a sign of discomfort from a tooth, esp since she's drooling and licking a lot. Cat's tend to also have some smelly breath so I would guess the smell is just her saliva that's all over her face. I hope things go well at the vet!

Are they stealing each others food? If so I would separate them for feedings. Id also look into a puzzle bowl when it comes to feedings so they have to work out to get their meals, as for servings I usually look at the can/box to see the suggested feeding amount as cat weight and age varies...

I would agree that maybe a second opinion could be needed. Sometimes a doctor might see something another didn't. Might not be bad to follow your gut, I hope things come out alright for you and the little one.

I wouldn't buy the cheapest brands like 9lives and Friskies but yes, wet food is overall healthier. Dry food is great as an additive to their wet meal, treats for their teeth but its mostly popular because of the longer shelf-life (cheaper).

I hope things will go well and that results comeback as something not to serious. I would offer pate and soft treats with smelly yummy flavors like chicken as cats prefer foods easy to eat with strong smells
