Unfortunately that post was from 2017 so I'm not sure I would count on that happening again ;)

    Cat Food Deals Forum?

For Amazon, it's usually that Amazon is out of stock of something for some reason, and it's 3rd party sellers that have the higher prices. Usually it is because they have to offer free shipping, and pet food is expensive to ship. They don't get the same contracted pricing that Amazon does, so...

    Dry Food Diet

My cat is suuuper picky. She also prefers dry food to wet, but things I've done to help: - Feeding dry next to wet. Like yours, it seems to help. - using Wysong AddLife on the wet food occasionally to her - if I feed the same brand and flavor two days in a row, she stops eating it. So always...

Supplementing for extra vitamins + minerals?

You definitely don't want to overdo it on supplements... Those toppers people use should amount to 10% or less of the calories they eat in a day. I feed primarily canned food with a bit of dry for overnight. The only additives I use for my senior are Bonnie and Clyde fish oil for the Omega 3...

    Dry food suggestions

My picky feline likes Instinct (any of them). I think it's the only brand she will finish the bag of without complaint. She will grudgingly eat Pro Plan. Also, I much prefer a food with "meal" in it. If you take chicken and remove all the moisture, you essentially have meal. Since ingredients...

    Non-prescription appetite stimulants

In larger doses, yes. In small amounts it can be good for digestion and heart health. I'm using like 1/8 of a tsp a day tops; the directions say up to one teaspoon a day for the "health benefits". I think some cat foods actually have garlic in them, too.

    Non-prescription appetite stimulants

I use Wysong AddLife when I need my picky kitty to eat. It's a powder so works for me on both kibble and wet and is slightly easier to work with than freeze dried treats. I don't use it for it's marketed purpose haha. Rather for the Enzymatic Digest of Chicken and Fish that is the main ingredient.

    Freeze Dried Cat Treats

For freeze dried, my cat really likes Wysong Dream Treats or their Archetype Raw Quail Diet. I too have found that if they are really hard brands that she won't eat them, but the Dream and Quail seem to be softer.

Senior kitty - any food changes needed?

I am mostly wanting to know if there is any targets percentages for protein, fat etc, that might prevent the muscle loss that I experienced with Jasmine. We did a complete senior panel including CBC, urinalysis, biochemistry, thyroid. Only thing of note is that she needs a dental cleaning.

Senior kitty - any food changes needed?

What about Tiny Tiger needs to be avoided? What is considered "low fat" and what should my target be? The dry matter basis for the AJ she eats most is 45% protein and 27% fat. She won't eat a food two days in a row, so she gets nothing every day besides the Pro Plan kibble. She won't use...

    Coping with grief cat death

I'm so sorry you're going through this! My 17 year old kitty, Jasmine, was put down due to cancer. One day she was fine, then the next day her stomach ballooned up and she wouldn't eat anything. I called the vet and had an appointment next day as that was the soonest I could get her in. I knew...

Senior kitty - any food changes needed?

Lydia turned 12 in October, and of course I can't leave well enough alone and want to be sure I'm doing the best by her. Currently she's eating a mix of wet foods: Primarily Tiny Tiger, Fancy Feast, American Journey, WholeHearted, Sheba... Occasionally other stuff as I find it on sale. She does...

How do you deal with hunger strikes?

Lydia refuses to eat the same food two days in a row. I have to keep at least 4 to 5 flavors/textures/brands on hand or she will skip meals. I'm not avoiding any ingredients because my philosophy is that feeding the best food in the world means nothing if it doesn't actually get into the cat...
