I had a similar problem with my little furball, and it ended up being an allergy/sensitivity to chicken. It took months of tracking what he was eating and trying various single-protein foods to figure it out. :cringe:
Maybe you can try doing something similar? Try a food with less ingredients...
I have put all that I could away — picture frames up where he can’t get to them, cords in drawers (which he has unfortunately figured out how to open), etc. I’m going to try putting plastic corner protectors on things that I can’t move, but I’d really like to break him out of the habit instead...
There is one toy that he hasn't tired of yet -- plastic springs. When he was younger, he would bat them around and chase after them for hours at a time. I'm hesitant to leave him unsupervised with them now, though, since he's suddenly gotten into the habit of chewing them apart (and even eating...
My 8-month-old kitten, Rollo, has become very destructive lately. He's chewing the corners off all of my wooden furniture, blinds, decor, and even helping himself to some charging cords that I've hidden away in a drawer. :(
I try to play with him at least thirty minutes a day (in two fifteen...
Oof. Sorry for the delayed responses, everyone! I've been running around like crazy lately.
@Jem
Thanks for the idea! He does like chasing things under blankets, but unfortunately doesn't stay interested in that for very long. :(

@Suljas
Rollo is a Ragdoll. :) When I do get a buddy for...
@rubysmama Thanks! I tried taking more while they were both here, but they rarely stood still long enough for me to get a good pic. ;)
Thanks for the link, too! Unfortunately, I've tried most of the tips in there already. Rollo just doesn't stay interested in his toys long enough for a proper...
Just a little update!
I've been feeding Rollo some limited ingredient canned foods (Hounds & Gatos Rabbit pate and KOHA Turkey Pate) and he seems to be doing very well on them so far! I suspect that he might have a sensitivity to chicken; I'll continue feeding him these two foods for a bit and...
Hi, all!
I'm in a bit of a quandary. I've been struggling to find ways to tire out my kitten, Rollo (neutered 7-month-old), after my sister moved away with his puppy buddy. The two used to wrestle and take turns chasing each other around the house, sometimes for hours on end. I did try running...
A little update:
I brought Rollo to the vet just in case, and she didn't seem too concerned. She thinks the bleeding was related to digestive issues that Rollo has been having and not due to the bone fragments.
I did get in touch with Hounds & Gatos, though, and they've been helpful so far. I...
Hi, all. Me again. :(
I’ve been feeding my kitten, Rollo, Hounds & Gatos Rabbit pate to see if his intermittent diarrhea is a result of a protein sensitivity. He’s been doing relatively well on it, so I bought another case to add to his rotation. When I opened a can from the new case, I...
@nerdgirl5 I have tried adding probiotics and pumpkin to Rollo’s food and they have unfortunately had no effect. :( Thank you for the suggestion, though!
I’ve made an appointment to get a second opinion from another vet. I’m hoping that she won’t recommend tons of expensive testing; money is...
Yes. My vet gave me Rayne's Sensitive GI wet food to try, and Rollo had the same reaction to it that he seems to be having with every other food: cycles of normal stool for a few days, then a day or two of soft stool/diarrhea. :(
I've also tried a different protein for a few weeks (rabbit, at...
I’m currently feeding him slow-cooked chicken thigh/chicken beware mix prepared with EZComplete. I was thinking of adding rabbit into his rotation, but I’m unfortunately no longer in the financial situation to afford that. :(
His breeder had him on a mix of Hills Science Diet wet & dry which...
