Vets recommend rotating toys, as cats might lose their interest in them. From an already existing collection of toys, choose four to five, and put others away. And rotate them every two weeks or so.
Do not force the situation. Some cats like each other within first few days, others need some weeks. Stay positive, I am sure your cat will find their own way to the harmony.
Cat McCannon has mentioned one of the best YT channels run by Juri Burstyn where you will find tons of helpful info. When you visit a vet, you can also use Feliway to descrease stress level in your kitty.
We researched the topic when COVID started, and as far there is no evidence that animals (or people) can spread the disease on each other. Here is the post with all references.
I agree with previous posters, you won't need much toothpaste, and it will long last. More than that, treating any dental-related issues will cost you more money and your time. You can also try dental treats, e.g. Feline Greenies Dental treats and then discuss your kitty's dental health with...
unfortunately, it might take time, each cat is individual, and one can accept my environment within a few days, and other kitty will need a few weeks, or even month. You can try music for cats on YouTube (I like them: https://www.youtube.com/user/relaxmycat) and/or calming spray Feliway that is...
You might use safe (!) essential oils (e.g.Frankincense oil - topical use) or blend the following:
Frankincense Essential Oil, 2 drops
Lavender Essential Oil, 2 drops
Roman Chamomile Essential Oil, 2 drops
and use in a diffuser. But you should be sure that the essential oils are of the best...
I hope Dexter already liked his new place.Cats need time to accept new places, some need 1 week while others might need ever few weeks. If Dexter does not like his new place, I would consider moving back or seeing a vet to discuss how to help him in a new environment.
fully agree with susanm9006, 10-15 minute play session on a regular basis, and it's very important to remember about weekly or bi-weekly toys rotation. @susanm9006 - it's awesome advice. While I was preparing my post about cat toys rotation only Jury (Helpful Vancouver vet) mentioned that, and...
agree with FeebysOwner, you might try calming sprays e.g Feliway Travel. If you plan to have your kitty in the carrier, leave it in the room where your cat is and let him/her to feel comfortable with the carrier. Once she/he is not afraid being inside, close the door and walk with the carrier in...
A few years ago a sister of my friend adopted a kitten, and then she relocated with her cat to the parents after graduating. A cat liked a new place fast, and became a member of a bigger family. That lasted about 2 years. Then one day she disappeared for 3 days, but came back. Few months later...
I have also heard only about Pretty Litter. It would be interesting to know your experience with BlueCare.
