    Cat with stomatitis

Since I posted this, my cat has had all his cheek teeth extracted in two operations after several attempts to control the inflammation with traditional treatments. His mouth tissue was inflamed beyond just the gums and he had also developed tooth resorption in two of his teeth. He is feeling...

    Cat with stomatitis

Thanks for all the tips and sorry your Krista had such a difficult time with her teeth. Previously when my senior cats needed a few teeth extracted, their regular vet did it (it was a cat only clinic) so I am not familiar with dental specialists and will look up how it works over here in the...

    Cat with stomatitis

Hi all, my 1 y/o Tama has just been diagnosed with stomatitis, the vet suspects it is linked to a calicivirus infection as a kitten. My other cat came down with a URI when we first brought Tama home, so this would make sense. He has been given long-acting steroids and antibiotics and the vet...

    FIP

First of all, I'm sorry you and Snickers are going through this. We had a very sturdy cat who developed FIP at 9 years old. At the time no one knew why he suddenly developed it, as we had had him since we rescued him as a kitten and had been really healthy and chill until then. I think FIP is...

    Allergic reaction to vaccination

Sadly that's not an option where I currently live. I do miss my old cat only vet.

    Allergic reaction to vaccination

Hi all, I'm looking for people's experiences with allergic reactions to vaccinations. I got a new kitten and he got his first shots 2 weeks ago at 10.5 weeks. This was the triple virus plus FelV. At the time I wasn't fully aware of the risks associated with the FelV vaccine in particular. A...

New kitten is way too active

Thabjs for the replies. I do appreciate your points but I am still worried it might be more than just having lots of energy. Don't get me wrong, I love playing with him, he has a tall cat tree by a window and plenty of toys, and I do not expect him to be a couch potato. But he simply does not...

New kitten is way too active

Forgot to add, our resident cat is cautiously curious and not showing aggression, except for a bit of hissing that has quickly taught the kitten to not get in his face. They now look at each other from a few feet and do not seem very stressed.

New kitten is way too active

Thanks for the advice. Due to the house layout is hard to keep him contained to one room at a time, but it's just a two bedroom flat, so might not be too daunting for him. I have contacted the foster home already and they said he was always playing and barely resting there too, which does seem...

New kitten is way too active

I'm having some issues with my new kitten, who's been here for just over a week now. One of our cats sadly passed away earlier this year and our remaining cat seemed to struggle with anxiety specially after we took a holiday and left him in the care of a cat sitter at home. We decided to get him...

    Trouble With New Garden

Thanks for your replies. We are temporarily keeping him indoors and he seems to be slightly better. Will put up netting on top of the fence to try and stop other cats from coming in and try again in a few months. I took him to the vet but they really didn´t have any useful advice, they´ve given...

    Trouble With New Garden

Hi everybody, I need advice regarding one of my cats, Gatsby. About two months ago we moved into a ground floor flat with a huge garden. He´s always been an indoor cat with access to a balcony in all our previous homes. I only let him out supervised because we don´t have a cat flap (can´t...

My Cat Sassy - With Chronic Kidney Disease :( Need Advice/opinion.

Sorry to hear about Sassy. I have an 11 years old cat who's been diagnosed with CKD stage 2 for five years now. He also had periods where he regurgitated very often, I worried about stomach acid but the issue was he would usually drink too much water in one go (often straight after eating)...

My Kitty Has Chronic Diarrhea, Nothing Helps

This sounds similar to one of my cats. He's had chronic diarrhea for years and the vets haven't been able to find anything wrong with him. He also doesn't have any other symptoms, doesn't poop more often than any normal cat, no weight loss, and no apparent discomfort. We have given up and feed...
