the vet that we took him to doesn’t do I-131 shot so we started out with a cat specialist. Based on these comments I might have to switch to a different cat specialist to make sure he’s given the best care possible.
Wow that is terrible. I read the part on our cat specialist’s website about the staff only having limited interaction with the cats (which is reasonable) but it definitely made my heart drop. It‘s ridiculous that they basically stole your cat food even after you paid 100s of dollars for the...
Thank you so much for this very detailed response. I will absolutely be discussing the scintigraphy with the vet since no one has even mentioned that to me at all. The vet suggested a few places but I just went with the one that they said was best. I didn’t realize that I could looking for other...
Hi everyone,
We are now dealing with a health issue (biggest one he's ever had) for our 13 year old male cat. He was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and the vet put him on methamazole for a month. He has his vet appointment next week to check his levels again and then he's supposed to be...
My cat just had his annual vet visit and they advised us to schedule a teeth cleaning for him before the end of the year since he’s developing some gingivitis. My biggest concern with that is that he has to have a catheter put in. He already has a history of a Urinary Tract Disease and I’m just...
Very good advice, I wasn't even considering that. I was just very afraid throughout the flight thinking my cat was going to scratch through and get out. I had the Sherpa carrier which is pretty well made so he wasn't able to scratch through at all but it just made me very anxious thinking about...
Oh yes absolutely. After the last move i discovered this wonderful playlist on spotify called 'cat in my arms' that I always use to calm him down. It's just about 10 songs comprised of calming harp music by different composers. It's incredibly helpful
Hi everyone!
I am not sure how the cat site works exactly and if this will notify everyone who gave me advice through this thread but I just wanted to post an update anyway.
We did it! We made it through the flight.
I wanted to detail my entire experience on here since this was absolutely...
I'm doing a practice dose of the sedative today and so far he just seems to be sleeping through it which is good.
I have considered getting another cat and they actually tried it a few times when he was younger but he did not like sharing a home with another cat and would always either get...
that definitely sounds like the ideal choice. I would likely prefer the private room just because it'll mean fewer people around us while he's out of the crate. I'm hoping TSA will be respectful and just leave him be while they check the carrier in the private room.
Awww what a brave little soul. I'm so glad he got through that it sounds just awful. TSA just makes me nervous and always has but hopefully they will be cooperative for my boy as well.
I am actually testing out the gabapentin today to see how he does. So far he is just having a peaceful sleep...
That is absolute bullsh*t honestly. They shouldn't allow large dogs at all if they can't let their owners keep them in a seat. People's pets are literally everything to them and to offer monetary value for their life is completely absurd.
That sounds wonderful and it's exactly what I am hoping for mine too. Thank you for letting me know about the wifi too, I am honestly having every irrational fear possible while thinking about this flight so it's great to know that one is not a possibility.
