    Septic Arthritis or Mediated Polyarthritis?

Small update: I took Molly to the vet today. They did a senior blood panel, urinalysis, gave her fluids and also gave her a Solensia injection. I previously did not think I wanted to continue trying Solensia, but it truly improved her life before and she has been absolutely miserable the last...

    Septic Arthritis or Mediated Polyarthritis?

That's a good idea, although two of the litterboxes don't have much space in front of them because they are on two small kids tables that are stacked and we have stairs on the wall going up to both of them. I may have to re-think our current set up. I'll see what I can come up with this weekend...

    Septic Arthritis or Mediated Polyarthritis?

Oh, sorry that wasn't clear. I am not considering eliminating the Gabapentin at all. She gets it twice a day, but I think it's not helping as much. I am not opposed to giving it to her 3 times a day, it's just that the timing doesn't quite work out very well. I'll look around and see if I can...

    Septic Arthritis or Mediated Polyarthritis?

Hi friends. I am back. Molly has been really struggling since I weened her off the steriods. I watched her walk today and she has significant limping. I ended up giving her Gabapentin again 8 hours from her first dose. She normally gets two doses twice a day 12 hours apart, but the doctor said...

    Is your cat on Solensia?

Is your cat's name Orange? We have a kitty named Orange too. :) Well, legally, his name is Benji, but we call him Orange. He came with the name Benjamin, but that is also my husband's name, so we shortened it. And then it just morphed into Orange.

    Is your cat on Solensia?

I have stopped giving her the pumpkin powder and only give her 1/8th teaspoon of Miralax twice a day now. She has not had any problems with constipation for over a year. We had her on Solensia for about a year and it really did help her. She ended up getting swollen joints after about a year...

Low potassium in Hyperthryoid, CKD, possible IBD or possible SCL

Update on my Sweet Orange. He seems to be doing ok. I switched to Budesonide from Pred about 2 weeks ago. He does not seem quite as enthusiastic about food as he was on Pred. He is still eating, but he's a bit pickier. I've been using Mirtazapine (oral) about once a week. I truly hate to use it...

    Septic Arthritis or Mediated Polyarthritis?

Just wanted to give an update in case anyone is following along. The Solensia has totally worn off and unfortunately, it is completely obvious in the way Molly moves. She is doing ok, but she moves awkwardly and slow. I had reduced the Pred slowly and got down to 2.5mg/day and was a week away...

    Septic Arthritis or Mediated Polyarthritis?

Yeah, unfortunately we have a very small floor space around our bed, so there's not a ton of room to stick any that are larger. She does use them to go up on the bed with no problem. My husband says she uses them to go down and has seen her. Whenever I'm in the room though, she seems to jump off...

    Septic Arthritis or Mediated Polyarthritis?

Thank you, that's what I was thinking as well. I am fully aware that she may not tolerate them and it's extremely likely that she won't even allow me to put them on her, but she has surprised me before! I went ahead and ordered them since I had a couple gift cards from their deal last week...

    Septic Arthritis or Mediated Polyarthritis?

I'm hoping someone can give me a reality check here. While Molly's joint swelling has gone down significantly, she is still having the issue with her front ankles (Carpal Hyperextension?). The vet said that they thought that was a separate issue and really didn't say much else about it. As I've...

    Septic Arthritis or Mediated Polyarthritis?

Molly's swelling has gone down significantly. We will be finishing out this week at 10mg of Prednisolone per day and then we will start the taper process of 5mg per day for 2 weeks and then moving to every other day. It's hard to tell in photos, but when I feel her back hocks, I can feel that...

    Septic Arthritis or Mediated Polyarthritis?

Thought I'd post a quick update. Molly seems to be doing just fine although, she is still walking on her ankles. I can't remember if I already posted that the vet thinks that issue is separate from the swollen joints. I suspect it may be because she felt better with Solensia and was doing more...

How often do you change/clean your water fountain?

Yep, I learned this after a few months of not taking the pump apart. I didn't realize that I could! The little propeller was slimy. I disassemble and scrub it with dish soap with every washing now.
