    Cat's allergic to herbal med

Hi, and thx. Just made appt for Wed 15th - and realized he last saw vet in late Jan. (my memory needs a kick). He is 'indoor' (tho' used to leash-walk in past) and no other animals here to catch ? from. Not concerned so much re med cost as vet visits. The sneezing is not at all new - just as...

    Cat's allergic to herbal med

Thank you - nice letter! Had the T4 maybe 6 wks ago but only after being on the Gold x 10 days, so it was lowish normal (and I since found out that happens anyway even without being on the Gold at all). Will ask re BP tomorrow on phone. Whatever else might be going on (if anything) there's...

    Cat's allergic to herbal med

How long ago was that and where do you live? Not a cold/infection - been sneezing for too long, but it's gradually become 'more' and messier!

    Cat's allergic to herbal med

Good point - it might affect his T4, but he reacted so quickly (2 days) to being off it last week that i don't want to do it again if at all possible... but will consider what you said.

    Cat's allergic to herbal med

No, I found it (TSG) first... but she's aware of it and didn't balk. Thing is, I spoke to the PWB people and they have good meds for his 'hayfever', but they're not recommended if he's hypertensive, which he likely is with hyperthyroidism (I just forget if the vet said his BP was high - was a...

    Cat's allergic to herbal med

Hi - Ecco (15 yr male DSH) is hyperthyroid. Will likely be on vet meds in near future, but for now is on Thyroid Support Gold (PetWellbeing) which is great. However he's sneezing (messy) more and more after few mos. on the stuff, so I stopped it for a couple of days with big return to thyroid...

    Re Cesar/dogs and regular catfood

Just went to the store to try the M. Lion stuff, but I could tell from outside the bag the pieces were hard - relative to what I'm looking for, so will keep looking.

    Re Cesar/dogs and regular catfood

Again, not sure I want to try pro (or pre) biotics right now... could be good, but my vet staff has not heard of Optagest though I will talk to them again. Thx

    Re Cesar/dogs and regular catfood

Thank you - just changed answer here - one local store has one type (chicken) which I will try ($5/bag) but hope they get others cuz we're all sick of chicken! :)

    Re Cesar/dogs and regular catfood

Well, I don't do PB's - rather try to eat right (tho' certainly don't a lot :), but until the vet suggests it I don't think I'll go there (yet, anyhow). His pees and poops are OK (if a bit large due to thyroid issues) but otherwise OK and I don't like to mess with things when he's already on 2...

    Re Cesar/dogs and regular catfood

What he does is a crouch, and a thing somewhere between a cough and regurg. sound, hairballish thing, but doesn't usually bring anything up, just sounds awful x 1 or 2 minutes, then goes back to being himself, or whoever he thinks he is at the moment. He did a lot more of the crouch/cough/etc...

Answered above - trying to keep overlap/crossed posts here answered, but they get out of order.

    Re Cesar/dogs and regular catfood

We do get Orijen here - but only through Petsmart (do you have those?) and not always a lot at a time. Haven't yet tried it but plan to.

    Re Cesar/dogs and regular catfood

The thyroid stuff is for what are early symptoms discussed with vet and it is quite helpful... keeps his metabolism, etc. in a pretty good place. Testing for thyroid is expensive as is radiation, so I'm hoping to hold things as they are for now. He did have a low normal T4 done but had also...
