Thank you for your thoughts everyone.  His hearing seems to be fine, but that was worth checking.  As far as only feeding him when he's quiet, I think he would starve!  He's just not quiet long enough to reward that.  My best thought right now is just to put him in the bathroom while I'm prepping.

That's cute!!  My 5 1/2 mos. older kitties are 8lbs and very loooong - so I'm afraid that when JohnnyMac hops in he could ultimately oi deter them from wanting to use the litter box.

Was she under foot too much in your bathroom - what made it a mistake? Do you have another room?  I can see why you're frustrated.  Did you use an enzyme cleaner under the bed?  I know this sounds like 20 questions, but I'm trying to figure out what I would do in your shoes.  Have you tried...

Oh good!!!  That would be an easy fix.  I know it's a pain to have to order the spray and deal with it again, but it will be worth it for you.  I made the mistake of just spraying it on the couch when I first used it, and it really needed to be soaked.  I kept having to spray it and re-treat it...

That's good to know.  Do your kitties also ever use the box at the same time?  My 3 1/2 mo. old tends to hop in with my 5 mo. olds and I'm wondering if I should pull him out to wait?  My older kitties are 8 lbs so it kind of crowds them.

I know right!  Ha!  It just grosses me out a bit that when I go to pet them I'm probably touching residue from their litter box!!!!  It is great stuff though. Is that Chewy.com? 

Tell him he did a great job with that name!  Another toy idea that has been a standout for us is the Cat Dancer.  It's a wire that you hold like a wand toy and it has little cardboard tubes on the ends.  It looks like a piece of junk, but I kept reading cats go crazy for it, so we tried it. ...
