    What Would You Do?

Hey Willowy, I'm embarrassed that until this, I didn't realize that cats falling off of balconies is a very real concern. And I thought I knew so much about cats. I found a great site yesterday Catios & Apartments » Home of Habitat Haven with tons of great suggestions for balcony catios...

I Don't Know What To Do..

Don't let him out. You're the one in control here. He can me-ow but he can't turn the doorknob. I tell my cat Jack all the time "Nope." Because I'm the parent, that's why. They can really work us hard with their whining, but they're also easily distracted. Also, we have an escape...

    What Would You Do?

Hi Inky! Thanks for taking the time to write such a passionate response... I truly appreciate the input. I was over at the new place today thinking "oh heck, they'll be in their cat tree next to the screen door, getting a good breeze... no need for them to be on the balcony." I happen to...

    What Would You Do?

Thanks Willowy! That's the one I'm leaning towards. I think I'd just feel terrible if I didn't try.

    What Would You Do?

I'm moving from a large house into a small, one room condo. I've placed two of the strays I'd been caring for into families (so pleased!) and am taking only Jack with me. The other two indoor cats are staying with my now ex-partner in the house. Here's the big question. I've taken care of a...

    Unintended Consequences

Hi Maggie, yep, they're both fixed. And yep, I'm going to be moving. I'm trying to find Grey a home; it's so hard. I've grown pretty attached. He's the sweetest thing. I'd hoped he and Soots could work it out but she's not having any of it. The trigger for this is that is last night...

    Unintended Consequences

I've taken care of a stray for 7 years; she won't come indoors (throws herself at the glass trying to get out). She's lived a great life in my yard; shelter, food and love. Three months back another stray showed up and of course I wanted to help. But she never wanted him around. Yesterday I...

My Cat Seems To Dislike Me... Would I Be Horrible For Rehoming Her?

Maybe treat her like you would a semi feral that you're trying to socialize. Throw away all expectations and thoughts of how it was before The Incident. Start doing things like just sitting w her, reading aloud. Just ignore her. Read w treats next to you and when she comes to her them just...

    She's Gone...

OH, Chick, yeah, that did it. I'm absolutely bawling. It's 5:45 am and now I'm going to go to work with big puffy eyes and it's all your fault. My god, what a story. I also have little use for human beings. I was playing with our youngest last night (she's, maybe, 1?), and the vulnerability...

    She's Gone...

My possum didn't make it. It was a she and was apparently in really bad shape. They gave her antibiotics and fluids and pain meds but she died during the night. I am so sad.

My Big Fat 2 Year Old

Thank you Lisa- sounds like the wet food and feeding separately are the way to go. It'll be stressful during the transition but, as you mention, no more stressful than when I hear her eating Jack's kibble.
