Eating one kibble at a time - is it normal?

Let me monitor the situation (probably not a situation). We did get an X-ray few months ago, reported nothing. Maybe it's just a built in habit.

Eating one kibble at a time - is it normal?

Hello Furballsmom Yes it takes a while for him to eat but he’s like a grazer. He does use the same throat extending method for wet too. Seems your explanation is more accurate. So I’m comfortable you know what I am talking about. His behaviour outside of eating seems absolutely normal though.

Eating one kibble at a time - is it normal?

Hello, I am just wondering how common is this among cat behaviour. My BSH is 2 years old, 4.8kgs. When it comes to eating, he literally eats one kibble at a time with a big forward-and-back movement to swallow. We have regular checks to the vet clinic, no health issues. He is playful and...

    Behaviour after neutering today

Hello, I took my cat (8.5 months old) to get neutered today. He's a male BSH and I just want to check with experienced cat owners here, how long does it normally take for the effects of anaesthetic to wear off? It's been about 9 hours since he woke up from surgery, he seems to be quiet and...

Getting cat to eat (8 months BSH) by himself

Thanks ArtNJ, so for today, we put down 20g of wet and I put in a few pieces of dry. He still didn't touch it, so after 1-2 hours, take it away and move onto the next feeding time with wet food again? For the evening, should I be removing the pure dry so he doesn't think he can starve till bed...

Getting cat to eat (8 months BSH) by himself

One morning I tried to give him 20g of wet (which isn't a lot) and put in some of his usual cooked chicken (which he'd be ok with though he still prefers dry) Didn't take a sniff at it... And after 3 hours still no luck. I will try adding just some of his usual dry and try. Typically we have...

Getting cat to eat (8 months BSH) by himself

Hello. I think we may have brought this on ourselves. But it has been getting quite difficult to get my cat (BSH - 8 months) to eat by himself without us hand-feeding him. Though this only applies to wet food. With dry food, he would quite happily go and graze on it from a raised bowl. For a...

6 months kitten, not eating a lot but sleeping a lot

Hello all. I am seeking some advice, first cat owner. My kitten is about 6.5 months old and in recent days he has been eating less, one day, he has only eaten 25g of wet food. He is often a picky eater and although wet food used to be a struggle, he would in the end give in to eat it. Now...

Possible lung infection in my BSH kitten

It's like a twitch suddenly on his paws. Can't seem to video it as it's quite sudden. But will try when it does happen. Not often though.

Possible lung infection in my BSH kitten

Thanks Maurey. Can I ask another question? Is it normal for a cat to suddenly have leg twitches like a spasm? I've not see it often but like once in a while. It scared me at first. I'm just worried if any of this could be linked to medical. Saturday I'd be going to vet for a secondary check.

Possible lung infection in my BSH kitten

Hi Maurey, that's good to hear. He's just over 5 months, just weighed him and he's about 2.8kgs. Some people have said that his head seems a bit small compared to his long body, growing length ways rather than wide :p This may be a better photo of him:

Which is why I am thinking does he look too thin?

Possible lung infection in my BSH kitten

Thanks fionasmom. I thought I'd attach a photo of him too. He's just 5 months and weighs about 2.69kgs. He just doesn't seem to have that chunky look at I feel he may be on the small side?

Possible lung infection in my BSH kitten

Thanks for the reply. I shall do some more research. He's been on Doxycycline for 3 days so far. I've noticed he's been quite tired most of the day, since I give him the pill in morning after his breakfast. But then during the day he seems to have lost appetite and not very active. Is this...
