How to tell if a kitten has vision or developmental problems?

Our barn cat had kittens 4 weeks ago (they will be 4 weeks old on Sunday).  There are 5 of them, and they are SO cute!  They are growing perfectly and developing on schedule.  Well, all but one of them.  The one I'm talking about is the "runt".  She has always been smaller, and averages about...

Question of the Day Wed 11/02/2011

I love where we live now.  We have 5 acres in the middle of nowhere (going to the grocery store really is an all day affair lol) overlooking the ozark mountains, and we are off the highway on a dead end road with only 4 other families spread out over a mile.  I like our house, I just wish the...

    Is what I'm doing okay?

Here are some pictures I took today. They have gotten SOOO big!! I'm guessing them to be around 14ish weeks old. Henry: (you can barely see it, but he has a huge scar all the way across the top of his left paw, not sure what happened) Templeton: Puffin: Puffin is trying to nurse...

    Is what I'm doing okay?

Callie never leaves like Hazel used to, so I'm sure they are here to stay. She is here 24/7, so I think they will stay here with her.

    Is what I'm doing okay?

I can't believe it. I just can't believe it. Tonight, around 7:00 I went out to talk to my husband, who was standing by the road talking to his mother on the phone (our cell phones suck out here, and that is one of the only places you can get reception lol). I was standing there when a...

Question of the Day, Friday, Oct 7

I do maybe 5-6 loads, depending on what I have to wash. We don't wash our sheets every week. I do our laundry twice a week, DS's once a week, a load of dish towels, and bath towels every week. I use homemade laundry soap, and I don't use fabric softener, but I use vinegar instead.

Question of the Day, Fri Sept 23

We have a King. DH and I are both bed hogs, so we can't really sleep in anything smaller. A Queen is REALLY tight. If we have to stay at a hotel that only has double beds, we have to get a room with two beds and we sleep separately.

    Is what I'm doing okay?

Well, it has been over two weeks since we saw Hazel and the kittens. Callie becomes more friendly each day. She LOVES to be petted now and craves attention. She also cuddles with our dog when she is outside. It is really cute. I think she is just so lonely now, since she is basically an...

Diatomaceous Earth & Ants & Cats

I love DE! There is a feed store near here that sells it in bulk for $.53 a pound. You can get as much or as little as you want. I use it as a flea dust for the stray cats. It isn't completely effective but it does keep the numbers down some. I also use it as a wormer for them. They love...

How do cats wake you up?

Nora is the only one that sleeps with us at night, the boys just make too much racket and keep us up. When Nora is ready to leave the room, she goes over to the door, puts her paw under it and grabs it, and jiggles it back and forth. It's her way of knocking on the door to say she wants out...

Question of the Day Wednesday Sept 14, 2011

My favorites are Kix, Sugar Smacks, and Fruit Loops. I also like Oops All Berries (only the berries from Cap'n Crunch Berries) but it is hard to find.

    Is what I'm doing okay?

We are wondering if they were out hunting or something in the pasture behind our house and they got caught by a pack of coyotes. One night the coyotes were REALLY loud and close (even the dog was freaking out). All of a sudden we heard them attacking something in the pasture, and now that we...
