    Cat acne? Ingrown hair?

Thanks for the reply. I do know it was there the day before. I saw it when he rolled over and just thought it was some dirt he picked up from the carpet during rolling. But then saw it there still last night. Didn’t bleed or distress him and came out easily. I’ll keep my eye out to see if it...

    Diatomaceous earth for fleas?

Didn’t work for me. Only thing it did was create a nightmare to vacuum. My vacuum was covered in dust afterwards, and so was the air. Do not recommend.

    Cat acne? Ingrown hair?

What is this weird black thing that was sticking out of the side of my cats mouth/face? I’ve seen cat acne before but this one was odd. Not only was it on the right side of his face at the lip line, but it is also oblong in shape. When I pulled it out, it had a little white “anchor” string, like...

Dealing with a cat dominating another cat

They are both 8 and neutered. Cobalt gets constipated sometimes and had coccidia when he was a baby. He did just go through a bout of constipation recently, during this same time as these episodes. I do think Cobalt is dreaming before he wakes up and does this. While I didn't notice any...

Dealing with a cat dominating another cat

I'm curious how you all would handle this situation: So Cobalt & Rigby sleep together. He's been waking up and suddenly giving a bit of an aggressive meow at Rigby (who's asleep) and then proceeds to bite his neck. The last time this happened, I tried to reassure him that everything was okay...

Question about the safety of HypoCat

I’m worried about side effects too. I do see the whole “this doesn’t benefit the cat” angle when it comes to their direct body and health. But I also recognize that people both don’t adopt cats due to allergies or get rid of cats due to allergies, which indirectly effects the health of the...

Question about the safety of HypoCat

I'm really excited about HypoCat https://healthnews.com/news/scientists-have-created-a-cat-allergy-vaccine/ It's a vaccine given to cats that make their own immune system attack the proteins that people with cat allergies are triggered by. Since my husband is allergic to our cats and takes...

Blood from mouth or cat food?

That sucks. But no he never had this issue again. My guess was he bled from his mouth. Have you tired a different food to see if it still occurs? Cause if it does it’s probably something with his mouth.

    Help identifying brand of treats?

Thanks, I think this might be them! I believe there was a 3rd shape, they just ate them all. The kitties will be so happy! Your little one looks just like mine, too. :)

    Help identifying brand of treats?

Got these treats from a food bank, so they were divided out from their original bag. My cats are crazy about these treats and they are one of the only treats one of my cats will eat. Can anyone identify it based off shape and color? They are on the larger size compared to other treats like...

    Nightmares & Vivid dreams?

My one cat sometimes growls in his sleep. He’s also woken up hissing. I figure these are nightmares of some kind. He recently had a hissing dream, where he woke up, hissed, and then bit onto my other cat’s neck. He wouldn’t let go at first and actually then proceeded to step on his back and...

Do you always have to transition cats to a new dry food slowly?

Thanks for the responses everyone :) Secondary question: does this apply to new brand only, or should it be done even with flavor switches within same brand?

Do you always have to transition cats to a new dry food slowly?

Or is that only if they tend to not eat the new food if you just switched it suddenly? My last cat had FLUTD and I'd read that transitioning them slowly held reduce the re-occurrence of a UTI. I don't think it really did anything to help her not get UTIs, tbh. So just wondering if this is...

    Odd looking stool (picture)

Should I give the veg oil by itself or mix it with his food? He liked coconut oil straight but then snubbed that too. I'm baffled on where he obtained the human hair cause he isn't allowed unsupervised in the bathroom where we comb our hair for specifically that reason. I watch him like a hawk...
