    Nervous about novel protein diet

That was what the vet tried first! No chicken and no fish, we thought that we had it pretty under control with a rotation of turkey/beef/rabbit, but unfortunately the vomiting returned. She's starting the royal canin venison and rabbit, which will hopefully soothe her GI system. Trying to find...

    Nervous about novel protein diet

Can I also what else Artie developed and what he ended up taking for IBD? I'm trying to make my peace with the reality she may have IBD and the novel protein won't fully solve her problems. I don't love the peas in the RC, but there just aren't many options. Ginger has stayed on the appetite...

    Nervous about novel protein diet

Hearing others stories is helpful! She currently gets 4-5 small meals as well. Initially that seemed to help and then the vomiting returned. We'll probably stick with at least 3 meals a day because now plopping down 3 ounces of food at once seems like so much!

    Nervous about novel protein diet

Hello! My poor kitty Ginger has not had the best 2021 so far. She was diagnosed with asthma in January and around the same time started having issues with vomiting and lack of appetite. She got put on a wide variety of meds to get the appetite back on track and asthma under control. She is now...

    Cat Treat Help

I know, I wish she liked the freeze dried. She isn't very food motivated at all and she won't even try the freeze dried treats. I'll have to see if rehydrating them makes them more interesting.

    Cat Treat Help

I'm hoping to find some beef jerky that is cat safe and chewable. I found one that was cat safe but all the reviews mentioned that it was rock hard so their cat couldn't eat it. I haven't tried crickets, maybe those will be a hit.

    Cat Treat Help

Does anyone have suggestions for non freeze dried cat treats that are poultry and fish free? My cat Ginger is on a restricted diet to check for a food allergy. She's also been diagnosed with asthma and I need to try and get her used to the inhaler, but I can't find a treat she'll eat to help...

Experience with metoclopramide (Reglan) and cyproheptadine?

So fortunately the cypro and reglan were very helpful in getting Ginger to eat something. I was absolutely shocked the first evening after she had the meds that she came in to the kitchen looking for food. The vet was surprised the cypro worked so well for her, it definitely made her one groggy...

Experience with metoclopramide (Reglan) and cyproheptadine?

She is sadly avoiding the baby food today. She has eaten a tiny amount of fancy feast and some temptations. I hate giving those to her, but right now I'm trying to make sure her stomach isn't empty. The vet said that the Reglan is also supposed to be anti nausea so I could skip the cerenia...

Experience with metoclopramide (Reglan) and cyproheptadine?

I just got the cypro & Reglan today so I'm hoping it does its job (she'll get her first dose in a few hours). The pred has done no stimulating of her appetite. We tried mirtzapine last week for an appetite stimulant, but it really seemed to agitate her more than it stimulated her appetite. I'm...

Experience with metoclopramide (Reglan) and cyproheptadine?

Sorry for two posts in two days! My cat Ginger had gone into the vet with breathing issues, but now we're doing with lack of appetite and bowel movement. She had a lot of vet visits in a short time and we are worried some of it is just stress related as she's young and her blood work and other...

Cat making kind of a quacking, gagging, coughing noise every so often

So my cat Ginger was doing the hairball without a hairball cough, and based on some x-rays the vet thinks it may be asthma. I joined an online cat asthma group, and while we're still trying to determine if my cat's diagnosis is correct, it turns out that coughing was a pretty common symptom for...

    Visible Swallowing and Limited Appetite

I had no idea that was a possibility with cerenia. I'll make a note for my next call with the vet.

    Visible Swallowing and Limited Appetite

So two different vets gave the different diagnoses. The first vet I saw said asthma, then maybe laryngitis, then pancreatitis even though they only did the x ray. I took her to a new vet who said they weren't sure about the asthma as they didn't have the x rays, but that they didn't think it...

Do my cats really need a cat tree?

I have listed cat items I no longer needed on facebook marketplace and all of them were picked up quickly, so that may be another option if the shelters aren't in need right now.
