Question of the Day - Tuesday, April 23

I just paid over $50 for a pair of jeans that will become muddy, dirty, and ripped up within a year. I only swore a little under my breath.

How to tell if non-clumping litter has been used?

Also, you can check their bedding for any odor or wetness to make sure no one is having problems understanding where to go. If there are enough boxes, they'll catch on. :)

Food for a cat that’s prone to cystitis

Hi, does your cat like wet food? IME that's best for bladder problems as the extra moisture keeps the relevant area flushed out. :)

Tell me a mildly infuriating story...lol.

Mildly infuriating but kind of stupid-funny... I had a pair of pet clippers at work that had been acting up. The cord was very lightly loose at the base of the clippers and would occasionally shut themselves off if the cord got twisted in a certain way. I had a new pair in my cabinet, but I...

Tell me a mildly infuriating story...lol.

I might have stomped on it a few times, for a good measure.

Featured Palliative care for cat with cancer

:hugs: All of my cats with cancer eventually turned their noses up at their regular diet but liked Fancy Feast pates. My dog developed a taste for one brand of food (weruva) after being fed homemade food for years. Then he wanted Castor and Pollux Organix. When they're sick and I know...

Featured Palliative care for cat with cancer

Fed is best. If she were mine, I would feed her whatever she wants to eat. Just listen to her and offer variety if she slows down on any of the brands or flavors. IME, their appetites can really fluctuate and do different things. She may take to the novel protein diet at some point, but for...

A certain Papillon has graduated from 6 weaves to 12. It's a learning curve, but she's doing quite well.

    Robin's Nest

We have a robin nesting on the dog runs. A week or so ago, I found an egg had fallen. I did pick it up and gently place it back in the nest when the mother bird was not around. It wasn't cracked. There are now 3 newborn babies and one egg who hasn't hatched, so who knows if it will or if the...

Question of the Day - Monday, April 22, 2024

I don't mind watching baseball, but I get bored by the second inning and go off to do something else. Dog agility is my sport of choice, along with recreational swimming and horseback riding but I haven't done either in years, unfortunately.

    What's on Your Mind Thread - 2024

My vet has a clinic cat that will curl up next to any ailing dog or cat (if they don't protest) and purr his little head off. I have many many photos of Tag on the table, resting happily with this little orange nurse-cat next to him.

Question of the Day, Sunday April 21st

In high school, art. The teacher was really fun, played music in class and didn't insist we sat in our seats the whole time so long as we weren't being total idiots. He won a Students Choice award a few years ago and I wasn't surprised. An art club was formed and I was one of the first to...

    Beneficial nematodes for flea control

Resurrecting this thread for Year Two, to see how things go: The cats (I am unfortunately down to two now 😿) have been in and out of their catio for several weeks. We've had a very wet, rainy spring with very warm weather (and now back to cold.) I have been seeing the odd flea on dogs at work...

Question of the Day, Saturday, April 20

My go to place for staple items is Kroger. I've been shopping there my entire adult life and know most of the workers by name. My favorite grocery store for freezer and fridge staples is a newish locally owned place that's about 30 minutes away. Everything they carry is locally grown/harvested...
