i don't know about needing 'defense', but, as long as he keeps them short enough(as in not to puncture his paw pads, which CAN happen), then i'm sure it's fine. my guys' grow fast & long :) when they start 'sticking' to things & puncturing us by accident, it's time!

that is a great name! have you been able to do it? if so, how did it go? i have to towel wrap & slide mine on my lap under the table, but i get it done, without anyone getting injured each month.

i can't think of any type of cat i dislike, but i don't think i got to appreciate the beauty of the hairless breeds till a number of years ago when a friend had a girlfriend who was owned by 2 sphinxes. at first i didn't think they were beautiful but as i learned about them, & saw photos, i grew...

update-they gave her a 'duplex', double condo which she seems to enjoy. she actually seemed a little less hostile when i saw her yesterday, i was able to put some treats on the same area she was on. i got some growls, but was able to change her litterbox, straighten up uninjured. in the past...
