    Oreo Has Diabetes

Oreo is starting to get a little more steady on his 3 legs than he was. Since his post op meds are all worn off now, I'm giving him Buprenorphine twice a day and Onsior daily. I caught him licking the incision this morning so I had to put the cone of shame back on him. With opioids on board...

    Oreo Has Diabetes

Thank you! I totally agree. I hope this surgery is curative. The referral vet did not give me much hope though even though NCState suggested amputation. (They also suggested chemo to make doubly sure all the cancer was removed.) There were no other lesions noted on xray and no lymph nodes...

    Oreo Has Diabetes

Oreo would resist, just like he does when I try to kiss his head :( Oh well! I appreciate it, even if he doesn't, lol. Kitties are funny.

    Oreo Has Diabetes

Thank you and you are right about him being pampered. I shudder to think what his fate would have been had I just left them outside for my cat-hating neighbors and AC to deal with.

    Oreo Has Diabetes

He's about the same today. I've served him breakfast, and lunch so far under my bed and he's immediately shown interest and began eating and ate well. His pain med is due now. One more day of this pain med is all he gets. But I have leftover buprenorphine from his biopsy a few weeks ago. I...

    Oreo Has Diabetes

Here's one, I had just put his E-collar on and he said no thank you! I sat by and watched him carefully for a long while to see if he might try to lick his incisions, and besides trying to get up and move around, he just sat there staring into space. Spaced out on drugs. Bless him. You can...

Oreo is back home but not quite himself yet due to pain meds. Thank you to those of you who follow and comment. It really helps to know someone cares.

    Oreo Has Diabetes

Oreo is out of surgery. All went well so far. He is still dazed and shivering off the effects of anesthesia.

It's osteosarcoma. He will have his leg amputated tomorrow morning. Prayers please.

    Oreo Has Diabetes

Oreo is ok, limping less now. Still on the buprenorphine, but not liking it one bit. Eating well. Continuing to do research into holistic therapies. Finding very interesting info about the use of pancreatic enzymes and their effect on cancer cells.

Can A Home Cat Survive If Released In The Street?

The short answer is no. The long answer is it's cruel to take a house cat and dump her or him in the street. He might survive a while on instincts, but again it's cruel, and also illegal to abandon a pet.

    Uncontrollable Begging For Meals

I've only been feeding wet food since Oreo was diagnosed with Diabetes in April, and have had the problem of all of them begging for more food. I thought they just missed their kibble and didn't feel full without it. Which probably was partially true. So recently I gave in and ordered a bag...

    Oreo Has Diabetes

Boy our timing is perfect. He's more limpy than before which is to be expected :( but he's taking his buprenorphine every 12 and hiding from me afterward. Eating well so far.

    Oreo Has Diabetes

I can wait 10 days. It'll be hard but has to be done. Meanwhile my goal is pain management and anything else that might help him.
