My cat breathes very strangely after playing

Hi, thx so much for your response. No raspiness or sneezing, but she wheezes a little bit on occasion. Unfortunately the vet near me wants almost a thounsand dollars every time I visit. I found her on the street on death’s door and I wish I could provide her with more routine vet care but I just...

My cat breathes very strangely after playing

She is one year old. Always wants to play. But when she does, she walks away panting and breathing like this. Anyone know what it could be? For context, she plays with my 10 year old cat and he does not walk away panting. here is a link to a video of her breathing: November 25, 2023

Question of the Day - Tuesday, March 14

Atlantis—A Lost Sonnet How on earth did it happen, I used to wonder that a whole city—arches, pillars, colonnades, not to mention vehicles and animals—had all one fine day gone under? I mean, I said to myself, the world was small then. Surely a great city must have been missed? I miss our old...

Question of the Day, Saturday, March 4

A "The Unicorn In Captivity" tea towel, that was too pretty to use as a tea towel. And a small, square blue tablecloth that I found in storage!

Anyone know where to buy newspaper litter for cheap?

I've found that newspaper pellet litter works the best for me and my cats, but it's $20 for a 25lb bag, and we get through a bag every week! I cannot afford to keep buying it, so I switched to pine pellets, which are awful. Anyone know a way to get the newspaper pellets on the cheap? Thank you :)

Should I get my cat neutered?

So far, he hasn’t been doing any of that, but mitigating the risk of it starting can’t be a bad thing. I’m just worried about his recovery :/

Should I get my cat neutered?

I took in a stray cat over the summer, and he is estimated to be around 8-12 years old. I am finally nearing the top of the waiting list at the vet clinic, and can set up his neutering appointment for February 20th. He is only slightly okay with his body being touched, and is a bit more...

Rehoming some cats, and I feel horrible.

You rescued ALL of these cats; I have a hard time with my two cats that I rescued. It’s totally understandable that you need to rehome them— and if they’re going to friends, maybe you’ll get to see them once in a while. It sounds like you aren’t doing something cruel but something (initially...

Kitten at death's door from some infection/ ongoing issues and updates

YAY! I’m so relieved that he’s a little bit better— better enough, at least, to have an attitude. That’s a good start! I hope he’s able to cooperate with you, though. Again, you are doing such an amazing job!!

Kitten at death's door from some infection/ ongoing issues and updates

subQ fluids are quite easy to administer. I worked at a vet’s office as a kennel assistant, but sometimes was brought to the front where I preformed technician duties— including administering subQ fluids with no practice and only one instance of oversight by one of the techs. Irresponsible...

    Help!

Did your vet run any tests before prescribing the medication, or were they looking just to treat the symptoms?
