Please help me decide what to do next

Our cats sound nearly identical with their allergy issues. They checked his lungs out in x-rays and saw a little bit of scarring but nothing too bad. They all seem to think the inflammation is mostly in his nasal passages now. Once his food was changed he stopped the coughing (which is what they...

Thats right the inhaler was a steroid medication. At the time I was told it was safer than oral steroids, but the vets I've seen after don't really like the idea of the inhaler. They tell me the shot or oral are more effective. I will look at that article thank you.

Also I've tried the nebulizer with saline solution and he got a medicated one before in the vets office. It helped a little bit.

9 Hi thanks for this response! They tried doxycycline but it was only 3 days I believe. He was also resisting it so much (kept coughing it up) that the vet said to let it go. This was earlier in the journey before the ct scan and diagnosis. Is this only in pill form? Did your cat have similar...

Please help me decide what to do next

I'm not new here and have posted in the past about my cat's breathing issues. It's never ending at this point as we have been to many different vets and tried different treatments. I will say he has improved after we eliminated chicken from his diet. He doesn't have coughing fits anymore. He has...

    Cat keeps exhaling nose drops

Vet just prescribed my cat nose drops for his chronic stuffy nose. It's only been a couple of days but everytime we put a drop in his nostril he quickly does a big exhale and pushes it out. Is there a way to avoid this?

    Vet didn't mention dental issue?

My 8 yr old cat has had recurring uri since I adopted him. A couple of months ago he went in to get a ct scan and biopsy after we found a pink mass in in his nostril. It was benign and he was diagnosed with eosinophilic rhinitis. They recommended steroids for treatment of his chronic...

    Growth in cats nostril

UPDATE!!! His biopsy results came back and it's not cancer! She said its a granuloma. He was diagnosed with eosinophilic rhinitis. He wont need any more surgical intervention, but she's calling our previous internist to see if they can get him on a treatment plan. I'm so relieved for him...

    Growth in cats nostril

He got his ct scan this morning and is currently at the vets on fluids until later this afternoon. CT scan showed his right nasal passage had a soft mass (the one we could see while looking up his right nostril), which she was able to use her forceps to take out for the biopsy. She said it was...

    Growth in cats nostril

TE="fionasmom, post: 5590536, member: 73372"] For a surgery which uses anesthesia, most vets will offer a pre surgery blood test. It is not usually free, but is a good idea to accept. Given that your cat is not having surgery, but may only need to be sedated, they may or may not offer this...

    Growth in cats nostril

I'm pretty nervous about him going under anesthesia for the ct scan. Am I being paranoid??? He's never went under anesthesia before.
