All good over here! It's definitely not pica, just playfulness. He likes biting into hard things and toys, but he doesn't try to eat them - it's happened before on accident, mind you, so I need to be careful.
I don't use my heaters bc it dries up my nose/throat horribly, so my apartment is not the warmest. I wondered if maybe a cold nose would do that, too... I think he's never actually cold himself, since my thermometer says it's about 18 degrees celcius inside, and he's a longhaired cat. But even...
Litter dust lingering on his fur, then? But honestly, this litter seems like the one with the least amount of dust (if at all) out of all the ones I seen... we use this one: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B09Y98LRLS/?tag=
The product description also states that there is no dust, so I'm not sure. We...
So, I've been spending more time than usual with my cat lately, since I've gone back to working/studying remotely. I've noticed he sneezes everyday, but am not really noticing any pattern for now - I've heard/seen him sneeze before, but I guess I never really noticed it was a daily thing.
He...
I'm on the same boat. We often read/hear about how processed foods cause inflammation in humans. Cats are also mammals, they have similar organs to ours - why is it so absurd for some people to imagine that a similar type of food isn't great for them either? I'd imagine kibble is comparable to...
That’s exactly why I have the water bowl! I know there are a few illnesses that would increase his thirst, so I need to have a way to gauge that even if I know he doesn’t drink a single drop.
He used to be good about drinking from his fountain back when he still ate a bit of dry food, too… but...
The ceramic bowls have no visible cracks… but I understand what you’re getting yet - perhaps it’s time for new bowls? I’ve had these for a few years now.
I definitely wash his dish bowl well after each meal. Not the water one because he doesn’t touch it - it’s there just in case of an...
Update! The left (right on the pictures) side of Topaz’s mouth looks pretty much healed now. The fur is growing back nicely.
… but this morning I noticed the right side is now irritated. 😅 Unbelievable. I had slowed down significantly on the chlorexidine wash, as I saw no reason to annoy him...
This has only ever happened once, that I've seen it. I'm around for his meals more often than not, so I think it would have been hard to miss, to be honest.
It wasn't the same as when he "gulps" after eating... when he does that, it's just once. This time, it went on for a little bit (10-20...
Hi all,
My cat did something this afternoon that puzzled me. We were both together on the couch - he was fixing for a nap while cleaning himself on my chest, and suddenly he had a bit of a... gagging episode, sort of? I'm not sure what that was, so I'm wondering if anyone's seen their cat do...
Heeello :)
Update with with a recent pic, a week later. It looks about the same... it's interesting because the skin does look healthy now, I think the fur is starting to grow back, too (the patch is less visible from further away now, whereas before it was very obvious due to the fur missing)...
Thank you @Kieka and @mrsgreenjeens! I'll keep cleaning it gently for the time being.
His vet told me that was fine, she just didn't address the dark spots, so I was confused. I'm trying to avoid taking him in again for this so soon if I can avoid it - we already have an apt at the end of the...
Thanks for the reply! I don't think his skin's color is actually like that in that area, to be honest. You notice his chin is a bit dark too right below his mouth... it wasn't like that months ago, but it's been like that for a while too (and I also can't "clean" it).
I've gathered some pics...
Hello,
Opening a new thread for this now that it seems more obvious that the issue is indeed feline acne. My cat's skin was infected back in January, and it seems that we've solved that particular issue - the skin is now a healthy color, no red spots, and no longer looks inflamed. However now...
Hi! I was able to order Clearlax in from the US to France, it took a week to arrive. I strongly recommend doing that if you can afford it, I think it cost me 20€ total for the product + shipping. Lactulose did nothing for my cat.
Here in Europe you might also want to look for Laxatone+, it's a...
