Autoimmune eye issue -- Anyone with recent experience?

Was that an eye drop? We switched over to ointment which I used on myself to see if it stings and it doesn't, but of course it leaves you with terrible blurred vision. He gets so worked up over it that he drools like a maniac and acts like I stabbed him. What a drama queen.

Autoimmune eye issue -- Anyone with recent experience?

My rescue is about 9 years old and has had a host of issues, but one is an eye problem that can present one day and look fine the next. I took him to a specialist and she commented that she found eosinophils. So googling I found eosinophilic keratitis. He hasn't ever presented with cornea issues...

My cat doesn't like to be held

Yes! That vet is adorable. I tried the Squish Hold with my squirmy no-hold cat and it didn't work. But I did find that if I put her high up on my shoulder and support her butt she will tolerate it longer. Still, I can pick her up long enough to get her into a pillow case, or roll her into a...

Entry rug (for wiping feet) and a very "special" cat

Poor Duncan has IBD and when his belly is cramping and he is in pain he poops in a few unfortunate places. One place is on the matts I have for wiping my feet before going into the house. Sisal, rubber with pokey bits, all have been tried. I'm trying to think of something I could wash easily and...

Persistent Diarrhea in 6 Month Kittens

If it is a food sensitivity, as it is with my cat, I found the best way to clear up my cat's issues with diarrhea is to feed him some cooked chicken breast with nothing else. Make sure it isn't that treat paste in a tube, it has gum in it which your cat can be sensitive to. Just plain chicken...

1.5 Year Old Maine Coon IBD Steroids

I'm late to this party, but I've got two cats with IBD. One cat seems sensitive to any dry food and that includes just plain old dehydrated chicken breast. He's also sensitive to wet food if it contains gums of any kind. Since it seems about impossible to find and afford gum free wet food, I've...

    Ez Complete issue

I should mention this cat develops diarrhea in response to all kinds of things: dry food, treats, any commercial food, dehydrated chicken breast but he's fine with cooked chicken. I was giving him bonita flakes as treats, but then the diarrhea came. But he also had 1/2 of a sort of treat I know...

    Ez Complete issue

My IBD cat has been doing really well on homecooked chicken and turkey with EZ Complete added, but he's now reacting to, I think, the EZ Complete. He's had some horrible diarrhea and it goes away when I stop the EZ complete. I'm still testing my theory it is the EZ Complete. Anyway, I'm...

Cat is eating 12 oz of chicken daily.

As I mentioned, he won't eat thigh meat. Picky eater, that cat.

Cat is eating 12 oz of chicken daily.

Yeah, I was thinking this too. What about fiber of some sort? He doesn't eat grass much when I offer it.

Cat is eating 12 oz of chicken daily.

My poor kitty has a history of IBD and urinary crystals. I tried special food for the crystals but it made the IBD flare. There are some ingredients in commercial food he does very badly with, I think guar gum is one, I think the stuff used to dissolve the crystals is the other one. Anyway, I...

    Ez Complete Question

I'm starting to use this as my IBD kitty is now completely rejecting canned food and he seems to like this! However, I've lost the scoop. How much EZ Complete should I add, by measure, not weight, for an oz of food? Now, if I can get my other two cats to get with the program... Another...

Sore Eye -- Nothing Helps Much

Also, his personality changes so much when his eye is clear! He becomes much less fearful and more social and loving. It is nice having my buddy back to normal.

Sore Eye -- Nothing Helps Much

Thanks everyone! It is finally clearing up. I started using an eye drop designed for lubrication once a day. Now I'm not even doing that every day. Although, he started sneezing yesterday so if that is his FHV acting up, we might be doing this again. Ugh.
