That's what I'm wondering: if there's such a thing as the vet prescribing something that I can give him at home?
I can't take him to the vet every month. It's just too much for him. Also, we've tried 3 different kinds of sedation, they all have negative side-effects and I don't want to have to...
Sounds like dry skin! My two have this problem, but Hezký's was especially bad. I started adding fish oil to their food every day and that has made a world of difference!
[I started taking some as well and it's helping my dry skin too! LOL]
Start the fish oil slowly! If you start at a full...
Two things totally freak Hezký out and send him into an absolute PANIC: going to the vet [he has to be sedated before we can even get him out of the carrier] and me touching his feet.
He hasn't let me anywhere near his feet for 3 months now and his claws are deadly weapons. He's always liked...
Ok, I've got my notes straightened out and am doing more research into omega 3 oils.
This site has very good info on "the infamous" squid oil. LOL http://calamarioil.org
Squid/Calamari oil has a much higher percentage of DHA than EPA [2:1] Fish/Krill/Green-lipped mussel oil has more...
Thank you! I did toss it. I was just pouting in my last post.
You're right, I think I feel bad NOW, just running out of sprinkles -- but I'd REALLY feel awful if it was my fault they got sick!!
[But both are giving me this pitiful look because I didn't fix their supper right! LOL]
I was thinking that if I boiled it for 10 minutes before baking it for an hour it'd be ok as a topper since it was right at the freezing mark the entire time. Just can't believe I forgot about a pound of chicken!
Good news is the dehydrated from HT is already on it's way!
I just discovered an entire pound of nicely cubed cooked chicken in the back of my fridge! I somehow missed it when I was making cat food last Tuesday. It was way in the back and it's temperature is 32 degrees.
What I'm wondering is: would it be ok to shred it and dehydrate it?
The kids are...
Hi! I just read your posts about your colony last night. I am SO glad all of your fur-babies are safe now! I know you will miss them terribly tho.
I don't think he's feral. I think he got dumped in my neighborhood. I first saw him in May. Standing in the side yard looking very confused. If I'...
Where the heck did I get SQUID from?!? I must've had too many notes going on at once. I usually triple-check better than this! grrrr.
The thing with squid oil is that it has a higher percentage of DHA than EPA - the opposite of what most fish-based oil have. [Not sure about green-lipped mussel]...
Yep - squid oil for Omega 3. LOL
A TCS buddy recommended it because it has very little taste/smell. Both her cats and mine do not like sea food and this is easier to hide in their food. shhhhhhh!
Yes, Alnutrin has Taurine. But my main reason for switching to home-made was to hopefully help...
It's official! Malý and Hezký have been off canned/commercial food since Tuesday. Both are now eating home-made cooked. Malý is eating it a bit better than Hezký is right now. But even he got to the point over the last weekend where he wouldn't eat the bit of canned food I'd put in with the with...
HA! It says I'm 5 years younger than what I really am. I'll take it!
I didn't think any of those pix were actually funny. But the cat in the top left, the one staring off into space? It's having a f'ing seizure.
@mrsgreenjeens- Thank you for the links! Nope, no bones for my two! They get egg shell calcium because it's supposed to be easier on sensitive guts than bone. Hezký is especially sensitive and that's part of the reason for switching them to home-made.
