Newly Adopted 2 Yr Old Feral From Hoarding Situation

Hi Veronica00, I only just logged in and am getting back, First of all, I think you are doing a great job with Milo and it sounds as if the house he came from was a very good one and its great the tests that were done were negative..and recently so. That all sound very good/promising to me. I...

Newly Adopted 2 Yr Old Feral From Hoarding Situation

Hi, He does look lovely, yes, and hes very lucky to have found a home with you. Im sorry you lost your tother cat kid recently.. I hope your new guy settles in quickly... when I caught my boys (as kittens) in the trap the vet said they would never be tame, and they were the most loving...

Cat Is Vomiting Constantly, Tests Don't Show Anything Obviously Wrong

Hi Tortuga Im sorry to learn of your boys problem. Its great you are being so thorough with your investigations. Though I agree cats can react quite strongly when new family members come along, I wonder if there still isn't something else going on and I think perhaps another vets input might be...

    Hyperthyroid And Old Kidneys

I agree with you Mamanyt1953. There seem to be a few studies to date but I hope more get done to give a fuller picture of this whole matter (also because so many kids these days are "glued" to their devices often) I think I did see one vet too (online) who is very big about the whole EMR thing...

    Kitten Limping After Rabies Shots.

Hi Jmiller 1011, I personally would ring them sooner rather than later....I think quite a few cats sadly react negatively to vaccines.... If it doesn't clear up easily or quickly, a holistic vet should be able to help your kittens body rebalance, heal etc if that is an option you are interested...

    Cat With Seizures And Allergies

Hi Hoodoo, That is wonderful that she (-sorry, SHE!!) is dong so much better, you must be so relieved. Its great too, that you were so thorough in your investigations into the matter! It sounds as if her diet will be great, without the corn, wheat etc....esp as a lot of corn nowadays is GMO...

    Cat With Seizures And Allergies

Hi Hoodoo, Im sorry to hear about your cat. I feel for you, my boy started having seizures and it was horrible. Its good though that things improved recently. Did switching to the new food help re his symptoms? What did the vet say when you cat stayed there? Did they run tests on him? The...

    Battery Operated Fountain?

Hi PJg8R I tried also to find such a fountain....I think I once saw one (ceramic) but I wasn't sure if the glaze on it was safe for cats . Also my cat kid likes to "rearrange" things and I was concerned it could get smashed and injure her ...wish they would make them, cat friendly ones...am sure...

Cats Bringing In Mice And Birds

PS of course, the whole "hammer and nail thing" is best avoided in some situations eg if the area in question is made (or perhaps even suspected to be made of) of toxic material...older houses still can have such materials unfortunately. eg asbestos sheeting

Cat With Neurological Damage Hasn’t Peed

Hi Elena, sounds as if you have a lucky cat there, to be adopted by you... Re the pee-ing, how long can cats safely go without peeing? I think I often read about how important if was to address cats not peeing - and asap often. eg if boy cats get plugged "down there" If Im remembering about...

    Doesn't Drink Anymore...

Hi Pink Nomi Its lovely you adopted a cat kid from a shelter I think. Have you tried perhaps adding some water to wet cat food, to try and get some extra water into him at the moment..just mash it all in together... some cats will however just drink the fluid added to /poured onto the food in...

    Sick Kitten...vet Says She's Okay?

Hi KMSLake Im sorry to learn about your poor little kitten. I agree with Abyeb about a second opinion... and sooner rather later if possible perhaps. In my experience vets can vary a lot in their beliefs, approaches, testing methods, etc...And some simply have more experience, or more...
