    Arthritis in Cats

If you can, initiate a multimodal approach to decrease inflammation (through medication, diet, cold laser therapy, CBD, etc.). The links in Neely's post provide a ton of great information! I recently purchased a heated bed/pad for my girl, and she really enjoys it.

Food Allergies and Potential Environmental- Thoughts?

Wanted to add: When we were still seeing the derm, I did not see real improvement and permanent healing of my cat's lesions until she was switched from prednisone to methylprednisolone. This seemed to be key for her. Please keep us updated on how your kitty is doing.

Food Allergies and Potential Environmental- Thoughts?

My cat also reacts to poultry and has reactions to ingredients in the canned commercial foods that I have not been able to pinpoint. I find it so difficult to find true limited ingredient commercial foods for her. When I first adopted her when she was ~ 6 years old, we also tried the...

I would love to hear what ultimately happened with the medication decision.

    HELP with Hairball/Loose Stool!

We are still on our first bag of coco therapy, so I really can't speak to any success or failure quite yet. But I wanted to pass along the link as a possible resource for you in case you are like me and spend a good amount of time collecting information and researching alternatives. :petcat:

    HELP with Hairball/Loose Stool!

I read (can't remember the article, sorry) that constipation can include watery, diarrhea-like looking small amounts of stool. I can empathize with your situation, as my cat has food and environmental sensitivities that seem to be constantly flaring. The Proviable probiotic product helped my...

    Hyperesthesia Or So I Think.

My girl has mild hyperesthesia (she's only had a couple more serious episodes that I've witnessed). Her treatment includes CBD oil in her meals daily and cold laser therapy sessions every 2–3 weeks. I do the best I can to create a stimulating environment for her. Recently, after doing some...

    Cat Treats?

An option is to open a can of wet food and just give her a small spoonful as a treat.

Recently Adopted Cat And Diarrhea, Sadface.

My cat had soft stool when I first took over her care. She has food sensitivities to chicken (and possibly all poultry). Although my cat's first vet started us on the prescription diet road, I did some research and soon switched to an integrative vet. My cat's vet got her on Proviable probiotic...

Thank You! A Raw Success Story

Yes, so true! I can't agree more re most "LID" foods not being worth the ink on the label!

    Cat Allergies And Atopic

Oh, OK, I know about hydrolized food–the first vet I took my cat to put her on this. (I very soon switched vets – for a couple of reasons – and found an integrative vet, who sent us to the dermatologist.) There were still plenty of additional ingredients in those prescription foods that my cat...

    Cat Allergies And Atopic

What is Z/D food? I suppose a formula/recipe change could occur at any time and cause a flare. My cat has a derm who went the Apoquel and Atopica route, neither of which helped my cat. I felt the same way you are feeling about the medications and costs. We did intradermal allergy testing and I...

How Do You Guys Cut The Soft-gel In Fish Oil?

Excellent point about rancidity. I only buy the 2 oz bottle (so go through it in a reasonable amount of time) and follow the directions about not storing the dropper in the bottle, storing the bottle in the fridge, etc. Just posted as an option.
