We adopted a 2 year old orange man named Oliver who could be prone to obesity. We do a varity of things including Stella's Duck duck Goose, Wellness canned, EVO 95%, ect. Portion control is really all it is. I found Vital Essentials freeze dried that I can leave out. I don't think Oliver loves...
1/4 teaspoon a day of Miralax will keep kitty going smoothly. If you find her stool a little loose, cut it to 1/8th teaspoon. But it is easier to prevent constipation with low dose Miralax than stop it and she becomes constipated again. Miralax is safe for long term use.
Sounds like she has irritable bowel or at least a food sensitivity to whatever the new food was. Unfortunately, she is young and you can't tough this out. So this just started today? Put the regular food back down and tomorrow, run to Pet Smart or something like it and get some KMR (kitten milk...
We ordered Canna Pet for Leonard when his refractory nausea was unresponsive to meds. (He had FIP) I contacted the company for dosing and they were very responsive to my emails. Unfortunately, we put him to sleep the day it arrived. I forwarded my bottle to a fellow FIP fighter and she said it...
I am so sorry! FIP can cause seizures. We put Leonard to sleep on 3/10 as his dry FIP turned to wet FIP and I wasn't going to put him thru that. I am so sorry!
We just adopted a 2 year old kitty, Oliver to be a buddy to my 6 month old hellion, Lewis. Both are very active but Lewis is still growing an needs extra calories. Oliver could stand to lose 1 pound. We do Stella and Chewy's freeze dried raw and I had always had out Blue Wilderness as he is a...
We lost 7 month old Leonard to FIP. 2 weeks after adoption from a shelter, he began to exhibit symptoms. He had dry FIP for 3 months only to have it turn to wet. We put him to sleep immediately. It was so heartbreaking. We did everything possible. It's a fatal disease that attacks the young.
You can't test for FIP unfortunately. It is a diagnosis of exclusion. Is kitty eating? Weight loss despite eating is bothersome. Did they run a full panel of labs? Can you post them?
I too would be interested how you free feed raw. I have an overweight one and a 6 month old. The overweight one is new to the house so I am hoping raw will turn him around.
