My husband and I rescued 2 cats 7 years ago from someone in our town that moved out of their house and left their 2 cats to die. They were in HORRIBLE shape and only a thin layer of skin on them. Hubby and I took them in and they became healthy and whole again......with time. The one cat (who hubby named "Gran Gran, short for grandpa lol) was an elderly cat, but she hung with us up until last year, she passed peacefully. The other one (Putter who we call "Putt Putt or Putt Putters") is still with us, getting old herself. But when Gran Gran passed away, Putt Putt stopped being her hyper self and just lays around now, as if she is grieving the loss of Gran Gran. They were a VERY bonded pair! So just last week, we decided maybe if we got another cat that Putt Putt would come back around, so we went and got the kitten in my profile pic name "Sequoia River". Putt Putt saw us bringing Sequoia into the house and she was not happy camper lol. We are keeping them separated at this point still, but just in the last two days have the two seen each other and that is only through a screen my hubby made to separate them for this meeting. At first it was not good, but now they are laying there just looking at each other in calming manner, kind of like two buddies hangin' out, so we figure a few more days or a week, we might be able to put them together and see how it goes. At first they were in each others face between the screen, then it was so many feet back away from each other, now they are both right beside the screen laying and falling asleep.
