Any tips from those of you with wheelchairs?

I use a wheelchair and while I don't walk my cat with it, she is very aware of it. She knows to be away from it when it moves and that's safest for her imo. She's comfortable with it in the sense she will sleep, sit and walk all on top of it - probably because of my scent!

Thanks! Will consider a glove rather than a brush

    Grooming a shorthair

She's 3 and on both canned and dry food. Her coat has been looking a little lacklustre so might give her a supplement anyway. That's what I thought regarding bathing. I've only had to bathe her once during her teenagehood and that wasn't pretty.

    Grooming a shorthair

Hey, Had Nalah for several years now and her shedding has gotten a lot. My family keep complaining that her shedded fur just covers their clothes even if she just walks past. I've tried brushing but she just doesn't sit still. My mum is considering bathing her but not sure if that works or...

Cat losing a little bit of weight

Hey, this is a simple question. Nala (now 2 years old) has been losing some weight recently, only by some grams but it's noticeable, a bit like she's gained definition? She was 4kg last time we checked so she's hovering around that and 3.8-3.9kg. Her fur is a bit more scruffy as she's also...

Cat Overweight After I’ve Been Away For A While!

Came back from the vets today and she's had her flea, worming, and booster treatment done. Vet students who saw us didn't say much about her change in behaviour, just put it down to stress. After the boosters, she's been alright but very sleepy since. Not much will disturb her but I'm keeping...

Cat Overweight After I’ve Been Away For A While!

I’ve put down the kibble and she’s basically wiped it down. It must be the hunger + not having her favorite wet food + something else is up. She’s not even sitting in the living room when everyone is downstairs and that’s what she loves to do as she doesn’t like to be alone. She’s still...

Cat Overweight After I’ve Been Away For A While!

Just checkin' in so I don't have to make a new thread about something vaguely similar. I've been feeding her slowly and exclusively wet food but right now she's changed a bit. For the past few days, she's been very sleepy to the point I haven't interacted with her and when she isn't sleeping...

Cat Overweight After I’ve Been Away For A While!

Yeah, I thought that might be it because today she's been pretty happy and purr-y with us all obviously means she's super happy to have us all back. What do you mean by being careful? I've usually been feeding her 50g (half a packet) x 3 (or 4 depending on season/her hunger) plus 60g of dry...

Cat Overweight After I’ve Been Away For A While!

Not sure where to put this but I’m pretty raging. Some of you may recognise me and I just came back from 5 week trip to Kenya for a family emergency and I’ve just gotten back. My cat, Nala, is 2x her weight when I left her. Evidently, my family have been over feeding her ie. stepdad gives...

Stray, Semi-feral Or Feral Kitten In Kenya

Just updating the thread before I leave Kenya. I feel rather sad about this as I’ve really bonded with Aziz (that’s what my niece and I named him). The vet has seen him and confirmed that he’s got viral cat flu. He seems healthy other than that though. Asha (calico) and Esther...

Stray, Semi-feral Or Feral Kitten In Kenya

Yeah, I think also it’s a lot more in the face compared to the UK where you don’t really see strays or ferals on a regular basis. Just got an appt for little kitten in a few days. I hope vet doesn’t find anything nasty in their checks.

Stray, Semi-feral Or Feral Kitten In Kenya

But the there’s the thought that they’re surviving and they’re clearly eating and alright bar the fact they’ve got no healthcare checks. By not skinny, I mean the bigger ones are pretty much the size of husky puppies if not just a bit smaller.

Stray, Semi-feral Or Feral Kitten In Kenya

I’ve not seen any signs of vomiting but he’s still coughing but it’s not constant. More like one every few hours. I’ve found a mobile vet that may visit the area I’m staying. It’s better as most vets are far or upstairs with no lift which isn’t good as I use a wheelchair. Today I went out to...

Stray, Semi-feral Or Feral Kitten In Kenya

He’s had nothing. No flea or worming treatment nor any shots. I could take him to the vets but it’d mean I have to pay for his future vet trips once I go back home as it isn’t fair to just stop caring for him after influencing the family to do something beyond feeding him.
