Almost at the 3 mo. mark! (11 y/o and 7 month old)

Oh my gosh, Lily and Mocha sound so sweet. That's exactly how I would characterize Poly...she seems to really adore Gracie and just wants a good friend, make the most of their situation. Monumentally, my partner just sent me these photos from today. Poly wiggled her way down into their...

This is SUPER reassuring, thank you. It's a little disconcerting hearing Gracie's grouchy noises, but she really does seem to tolerate much. More patience than even I have sometimes. Haha.

Hiiii! I'm back. :) You guys are just way too helpful. And sometimes it's silly, to think about posting here, but even some reassurance goes a long way. So we have Gracie and Poly. They've been co-habitating for over a month now and fairly well. Gracie even plays with Poly a bit - only for...

    2 months in - 10 y/o and 7 month old. Still swatting?

Officially two months yesterday- playing again, I believe! Gracie is good a about not using claws but Poly is still learning.

For sure! Good idea. When Poly gets too crazy we usually redirect her with a toy for a good 15 minutes and it seems to help! Or if she's being especially bratty, just let her timeout for a minute or two in another room so Gracie can relax (or poop haha).

Are my kitties potentially certain breeds/a mix?

Gracie in the large one, Poly in the one-eyed kitten. Poly's tail is especially odd - it rests atop her back, flicking forward, usually; she also seems to be medium-hair and has gotten fluffier over time.

Ill add she's never pooped outside the box, we clean it after every poop, and replace every month. We also have three litter boxes.

Older cat walking around, meowing before pooping

Gracie's been doing this even before we got Poly, the new kitten. Every now and then she will howl a little before finally pooping, and the poop is normal. She paces back and forth between litter boxes before finally pooping, and then does the "zoomies" afterward. Is this normal? She poops...

One more for the night, Gracie relaxed, watching Poly be weird (she growls so silly with her toy, little dork)

Decided I am going to continue to document cat intro journey so I can -hopefully- inspire others and look back and realize how far they've come.. Video of Poly trying to get as close as Gracie will allow to her...she really loves this old grouch.

    Hello hello! :3

Here are Gracie (10 yr) and Poly (short for 'Polyphemus', 7 months). 2 months of interaction. Gracie begrudgingly permits Poly to live here for now, with some swatting and hissing but also playing and sniffing. Love my sweet girls.

Thank you, again. Yeah, at this point I don't expect them to be snuggle buddies (a girl can dream) but as Poly gets older at least Gracie will be happy she's less active. 😻
