    Bowen's Disease

Hello Babiesmom, another question, Kitty has had 3 small scabs on her front leg for quite a few months now, our vet said he thought they were also Bowen's, but they have not responded to the Aldera. I found a new one on her back leg today that she had torn the fur off of and was licking it. I...

    Bowen's Disease

Thank you, I will try that! Her fur has already partially grown back around the incision, and it has been a couple of months since the surgery, so not sure why it would still be itchy...

    Bowen's Disease

The rash on Kitty's chest disappeared after I stopped the aldera...but the incision where she had surgery is quite itchy, it is quite a long incision across her chest, but it is several months since the surgery, is this indicative of anything?

    Bowen's Disease

Thank you, I also thought it might not be Bowen's, she does scratch and lick at it but she wears a collar. I will stop applying the aldera and see what happens, and let our vet know.

    Bowen's Disease

Hi Babiemom, i wanted to share a couple of photos of a new lesion that formed shortly after her surgery. It is unlike any other I have seen, it started small, then just when I think it has cleared up, it moves outwards. About a month of treating it almost every day now, and it has progressed...

    Bowen's Disease

We found a vet on the island who does cryotherapy (they call it cryo-surgery), in Nanaimo of all places, which is about a 2-3 hour drive for us. They said it is a small pen and they have only used it for very small skin issues, so they are not sure if it would be suitable for our needs. I am...

    Bowen's Disease

Yes, just the scabby center is the lesion, that looks similar to my cat although that is a very large area of black spot.I think you could shave around the lesion a little more with a razor if you use the hot water and cloth. The razor will also take some of the scabby surface off, lightly...

    Bowen's Disease

The black spots are not necessarily lesions, my cat also has them even after the lesion has cleared up.

    Bowen's Disease

Hello Alex, make sure to cut the fur away from the lesion, and I use a shaving razor to take it right to the skin. Use some warm water and a cloth to exfoliate the scab off as much as possible, dry with tissue, before applying the cream. Use as little as possible, I use a pen that has a roundish...

    Bowen's Disease

Hi Babiemom! Thank you for your message, I don't seem to have received a notification for that, so I am just seeing it now, so sorry to have missed that... but I did receive a notification for AlexB.just now. Thank you for the update and suggestions, we have not been able to find anyone who does...

    Bowen's Disease

Kitty had surgery to remove a few lesions on her chest, the biggest one and 3 smaller ones. Also a small one near her ear. She is recovering well after a week, although we had quite a scare after the surgery when she was not recovering from the anesthetic and her temperature was stuck at 32ish...

Lesions: Surgical Removal & Moisturizer for Skin

Yes, I don't use it near her mouth, just on the big one on her chest and other areas. I was also using aloe from a plant we have, that works quite well. But yes coconut oil is a good idea, we also have MCT oil. I imagine that if the skin is more fully moisturized, that the medicine cream will...

Lesions: Surgical Removal & Moisturizer for Skin

Hello, we are just in the process of trying to find a vet who can surgically remove 2-3 lesions, I have attached photos of the largest one on her chest, and a smaller black one near her mouth. These are the most resistant and after 8 months of applying Imiquimod cream every two days, they are...

    Growth on Cat Paw

Thank you for your reply, the imiquimod works well for new outbreaks, usually red dots that appear, and resolve after 2-3 applications. The most resistant 3 though have not resolved after 8 months so we will most likely have them surgically removed since that is our only option now. Yes, we do...
