    Questions Starting Harness Training

Well - I feel bad. I just put the harness on my cat and plunked her out on the grass. After 2 minutes she was fine with it, and we take her on walks daily. She gets excited now when she sees the harness because she knows it means she gets to go. BUT>>>> she was an indoor/outdoor cat before we...

1st Time Pet Owner | Adopted Stray Had Kittens Please Help!

We had a pregnant stray adopt us as well. I have a very similar set up as you with the kennel too! Here is what a rescue group told me. It made me sad. They would take all the kittens for me for a very VERY reasonable price, but they wanted them at 8-10 weeks - but not after 10 weeks. The...

Cat Grumbles And Throws Huge Tantrums!

He does sound like a high strung fun nut. Have you tried any Feliway? I heard that has a calming effect too. I wish I could help you. I have the opposite with my cat, she just lays there and looks at you.

Have you had him checked by a vet? Given his age this could be a sign of HYPER-thyroidism.

    Will Cats Get More Feral?

I actually read a book about the first topic - if you are interested it's called "Cat Sense" by John Bradshaw. And he does state that there is an inadvertent harm to the species by "blanket neutering" human friendly pets causing only more feral and un-tamable pets to be available. Leading to...

Good Pet Door For Unhappy Cat.

I'm thinking of a catio too - there are free and easy plans on the internet that listed supplies and step by step (with pictures) instructions. I just googled it and found one I liked.

    Kitten Containment Box??

I guess I should clarify, it would only be 1ft tall open top, 6ft long, and 4ft wide... think a puppy whelping box size. The open top so she can hop in and out, the kittens would eventually be able to, too - but by then they should be able to eat and litter box on their own.

    Kitten Containment Box??

Oh - we will be fixing Mama once it is safe to do so. Vet said in about 8 weeks. She has become an indoor cat since adopting us.

    Kitten Containment Box??

New to indoor kittens - my stray cat just had 5 babies on Saturday, and I know they will stay in the birthing box for a while yet, but what do you do when they get older? My husband is thinking of moving out our kitchen table and building them a containment box 6 ft x 4 ft and let them live in...
