Just an update on this 4-year-old thread:
Days later, we had to put Tula down, last-minute. She had rallied and was doing better, but then went "down-hill" really fast. That's when I got a call from my wife who was frantic at home. I dropped what I was doing and drove home. It was the end of...
Tula is 8 yrs young and has an aggressive cancer sadly. The reason I'm worried and asking this question is, she is on Prozac (fluoxetine) & Gabapentin. She has often reacted the opposite of what we thought she would from her meds... ie: a few years ago the Dr had us up the Prozac to help her...
hi and thanx for the reply! we have not discussed with the vet just yet. i am looking to get a grasp on possible alternatives before discussing it with our vet.
that site is a great resource, thanks for sharing! :D
hi all. our youngest cat, Tula, has Redirected Aggression. she has been living on liquid Prozac for the past 5-6 years and she is 8 years old. this Spring, since it is the time of year where she will tend to regress a bit (Spring is in the air) the Prozac does not seem to be working as well...

so far no dice. Shamus walks up to the food dish, bends down and then just can't do it. sooo close! not sure yet if we should do the Mirtazapine ASAP or give him a few more hours.
for the sake of comparing prices, here is what we paid for the extraction of 3 teeth on Monday, along with everything that goes with it (antibiotics etc...though we denied bloodwork) ... total came to around $850.
that was painful, when he had 12 teeth removed 3 years ago it came to about...
again, thanks W.S.!!
so far it seems the Dr is right-on. we left for work several hours after the Dr came to our home and gave the IV fluids and Convenia (yep it was that one.) we were gone for only about 4 hours, got home and tried fresh pureed tuna. he walked up to it for the 1st time and...
