How do you cope with having an aging furry friend?

Every day since Lunas cancer recovery surgery in 2018, I tested myself on losing her. Unbearable. I wasn’t sure I could live without her. Just back from vet where ultrasound showed left ventricular cardiac hypertrophy and tachycardia ( she was frightened to death) as well as fatty liver with...

Thanks for the reply. Thats what I thought -- she certainly didn't get an injection on her head. I just need to sleep tonight to get us there tomorrow.

Luna, 5 year survivor Injection site sarcoma, has a lump! Can it be?

What an incredibly thoughtful reply. People like you are a gift. She is right in front of me as a type this. Our appointment is tomorrow morning. I know we humans tend to think the same thoughts thousands of times a day and Luna is my thoughts constantly. When I have a break I mourn the...

Luna, 5 year survivor Injection site sarcoma, has a lump! Can it be?

Hello My lovely Luna is a rare long term survivor of an aggressive sarcoma. Just today I felt and saw a lump on her head next to ear. Smal jelly like sack that I could put my fingers around. Didnt hurt her -- but that is exactly how her previous tumor felt which is seared into my mind. Every...

Investigating the best cat food for my cats... Any advice?

Hello. I came on here because royal canin has production backup and my 14 yo cat has thrived on it finally gaining a little weight after a slow weight loss. She has done so well and now I don’t know what to feed her.

Vet said clavamox. Label says amoxicillan

Actually, clavamox is augmentin -- a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanate. It is a more expensive antibiotic than amoxicillin. so she should have written both meds on her label. clavulanic acid and amoxicillin.

"Sacrifices" and concessions you've made...(fun thread)

Since Luna (and I ) lost Puma, I hate to leave her for more than 4 days even with her daily visiting cat sitter. She is almost 13 years old and I stopped explaining to people why I don't like long vacations. On the other hand, this cat does sleep through the night and doesn't wake me for...

Lump Between his Shoulder blades? Worried!!!

It grew rapidly from week to week and I could see her fur sticking up in strange way so I knew it was getting bigger. I took her back to original vet who's eyes grew big and he said looks like sarcoma but she hasn't had a shot in a year...I knew that part wasn't significant. The fact his...

Should I go to a vet for procedures like this one or not?

That’s an excellent point about they forget the bad but what about the good? I think they remember much. Your compassion toward me and my cats showed how much you evolved from your cat childhood past. I think you will be a fantastic cat mom and will do what you can for your precious baby.
