Guardian of 2 black cats.

Petunia - 8 yr old spayed female; adopted at 5 yrs old from shelter, stubborn, not all that smart, nervous around people other than me, weight loss champion (25lbs when I adopted her, now down to 14.5lbs in 3.5 yrs).

(tentatively) Cricket - 2 yr old neutered male; newly adopted, in the process of introductions with Petunia. Incredibly sweet, playful, trusting boy, smarter than Petunia, listens when told to stay away from something, pretty passive towards Petunia though aches to pounce on her and play. Only 6lbs and I think he realizes that she could crush him if she wanted to.

In the midst of introducing these two black beauties slowly, learning a ton about body language in cats and how better to understand what they need in order to respect and love them as they need to be loved.
