Is a second cat a good idea? Please help :)

Many animal shelters have foster programs. My local humane society needs people to foster all the time. Sometimes it’s a cat that needs more socializing or young kittens, but oftentimes it’s because they dont have enough room for all the cats. This might be a good way to help a cat in need and...

What nicknames do you have for your cat?

Phoenix is Bubba because he is such goof. Ash is Princess or purrty girl. Because she's gorgeous and knows it!

    Cystitis

I took him to the vet today he was constipated. He was given and enema and started eating right away when he got home. I'm going to experiment with adding some water to his food since both the cystitis and constipation can be caused by dehydration.

    Constipated? Ate something maybe?

He's super clingy to me tonight, and very grumpy at the other cat ( usually they are best buddies) I'm guessing he feels very violated after the enema. Hopefully he will start feeling better soon. Poor guy!

    Constipated? Ate something maybe?

We have dozens of cat toys and both of my cats like to hide them, so I don't know if on is missing or not. The vet said his tummy was full like he had just eaten, but couldn't really tell if he ingested something he shouldn't have or if it was full of food. He doesn't usually understand that...

    Constipated? Ate something maybe?

So Phoenix hasn't really eaten in a couple of days. Took him to the vet today. She did X-Ray and his tummy was full and he had tons of stool in his intestines. He was given an enema and did poop for them. The vet thought maybe he ate something that he shouldn't have like a toy maybe. I am super...

Tidy Cat 35 LB Tubs Unavailable?

I use those tubs for everything lol! I have some in the garage that I use in the garden, some with yarn and knitting supplies. I have since switched to pine litter and use them to store that. They are so handy lol! That being said they really aren't that great for the environment if people are...

    Cystitis

Phoenix is two years old. The cystitis first occurred when I was out of town for a week. My husband was home, but reported that Phoenix was very upset I was gone. We blamed it on that, but since then life has returned to normal. Maybe he's worried I will leave again. I don't know.

    Cystitis

About 3 months ago I took Phoenix to the vet because he wasn't himself. They found blood in his urine and he was diagnosed with cystitis. He was put on pain meds. A couple weeks later he didn't improve and was monitored for a couple of days. They found blood in his urine and crystals. He was...

    Fur fur fur!

I have had a terrible year fighting an illness and am slowly getting better. I was able to keep up on feeding the cats and changing their litter, but that's about it. Recently I have been able to do a little more and have been deep cleaning my house. There is fur everywhere! I have managed to...

Royal Canin vs Science Diet -UTI

Do you recommend both canned and dry? Or just canned exclusively? I've always done both since dry helps keep teeth in good shape. The vet gave him dry.

Royal Canin vs Science Diet -UTI

So Phoenix has crystals in his urine. This is my third cat to have UTI issues. The vet started him on prescription Royal Canin while he was in the hospital. In the past for other cats Science Diet has been what was recommended. The cost is nearly the same and ingredients look pretty similar. I...

Cat toys!? Suggestions please. Am I doing something wrong

As cats get older they play less. As long as you are offering play time you are doing the right thing. In my experience as cats age they tend to like to play more by themselves. Some of my cats favorite toys include fake mice, balls, twisty ties from bread and rings from milk caps.

    Pine litter

I am thinking seriously of switching to Pine litter. Both of my cats are almost 2 years old. They used pine litter in the shelter, but I adopted them over a year ago. I recently switched to non clumping clay litter and they have no issues. I would like to switch to pine as I use up the...

    Litter litter!

I have two cats. I have two litter boxes. Since we only have one floor the cats are allowed and it's open concept two is good. They don't have issues with going outside the box or anything like that they just track litter every where. The large box is the one they use the most (it's the location...
