She hasn't had lactulose since Tuesday so I don't think it'd be that, I could be wrong! Her stomach is alot less bloated since she's going more regular
Thankyou all for your help, I tried olive oil but with no luck ended up going the vets and they gave us lactulose. It's got her moving slowly and she is not more regular at 2-3 times a day.
She is now 2 weeks old and growing so quickly!
Today she has been really fussy, she was woken up for her...
Thankyou for your reply. I have yes, I use cotton wool with warm water anyway but have tried soft tissue wet or dry also. No change. Her belly is full but not hard or overly massive.
Hi, I foster for Cats Protection and had a 75g, 5 day old kitten bought to be yesterday at 11pm. She has been feeding between 1.5ml and 3ml and peeing before or after every meal. I am yet to get her to poop. Is there anything I can do to help her? She had a vet check yesterday and she is healthy...
She rarely poops for me, as she's with Martha. She always wees but Martha seems to sort the poop. Breathing is fine.
I hope it is an off day! We are waiting on proper blood test results for Martha's FIV+ snap test. I worry that with Neen being so small, not getting Martha's first milk etc she...
Hey again!
A little worried about Neen tonight. She has been doing really well but today she isn't interested in food much, just chewing on the bottle, we are managing to get 5ml into her every 3 hours but sometimes not even that. Last night at midnight she weighed 283g and had gained to 295g...
If you felt movement she likely less than 2 weeks to birth!
Maybe she is only carrying a couple or is hiding them well! Do you have any pictures?
Honestly I've never had a cat go off their food before birth, I have read it can happen but most foster mums I have had, they eat up until birth and...
Has she been vet checked?
I'd assume if she was well in herself she may be ready to give birth but if you haven't had her vet checked or felt kitten movement I would be concerned about pyometra.
Can you check her temperature?
Keep cat biscuits down 24/7 hopefully she'll graze on that. If...
I think they do it for comfort as well as being happy. How pregnant is she? The pregnant cats I have tend to knead when kittens are feeding as it's uncomfortable. She may either be uncomfortable or super happy about being safe, fed and comfy!
They are no longer red or sore looking, look like hernias now rather than infection. I'll add pictures, hopefully you can see!
Yeah pyometra came up, I have dealt with a few pyometras so that was my first thought/ worry. That's why she was put on antibiotics, we were told to bring her back...
It's been another busy couple of days! Got Martha and Kittens seen, Martha had a scan and also snaptest for FIV/FeLV, unfortunately she tested positive for FIV. She has fluid in her uterus but they don't want to spay her yet due to already having reduced milk, we're trying her on antibiotics as...
I was saying as an only cat she will be fine, cats who have lived with other cats may not be, but as a kitten with humans she will be fine alone. Just trying to make OP feel better about her decision not saying every cat should be alone haha!
Thankyou for all your advice, I appreciate it! I've had quite a few litters but never any issues with kittens other than eye problems!
When they were born Martha(mum) didn't chew through the cord until the placenta was birthed, so occasionally she'd drag them around or they would hang while she...
