Every now and then I get frustrated enough to consider it. Unfortunately Walmart is 10 minutes away and Target is more like 30. I have 2 other grocery stores to choose from; but one is always more expensive (but they carry things I can’t find elsewhere) and the other is better for quick stops. So that’s where DH and I go during the week if we need something between grocery orders.

Our Target is REALLY bad for the checkout situation too. If I run in during the kids extracurriculars I need to allow as much time for checking out as I do browsing. The last time I went in they initially had only self-checkout and the line was so long it reached into the beauty area beyond the registers. The only actual cashiers they’ve had are a couple of people with limiting disabilities. One man is really nice and does a professional job of it even though he can’t physically do everything. The last lady I was surprised to see was a deaf friend of my mother’s. I don’t sign much but we manage. It was really nice to see her. I give her a lot of credit for facing that communication barrier all the time! I’m not sure I would appreciate having to have “I’m deaf” added to my name tag because its a position where people expect to talk to you and get questions answered. Hopefully it was her decision to take that position because she’s confident in herself. I just find it odd that it looks like they choose them only for that work.
Just the opposite for me. Target is about five blocks away and Walmart at least five miles, so I shop Target often. Fortunately our Target doesn’t have checkout issues, line hardly lasts a few minutes but their prices are higher and they have less variety than Walmart.

Hi, everyone. Long time no talk. Hope everyone is well. I've just been busy working on my thesis. The thesis show is April 27th and graduation is June 15th. Then I will have a degree in industrial design!! Whoo!! Bf and I also celebrated 1 year of dating yesterday.

My parents went away on vacation at the most inconvenient time for me and left someone they didn't know they could trust to watch Felix. She and my mom agreed that she'd live in home and feed him half a can of food twice a day. Unfortunately, she was dishonest and hasn't been doing that. When I got to my parents house this morning, there was no one there and Felix’s food was in a disgraceful state. It looked days old and he hadn't touched it. His water was also old and his litter dirty. I told my mom and sent pictures and she got upset. I live too far away and am too busy to stay with him so I had to buy a pet feeder with a camera with money I don't have (visa) and dry food for him. And I told my mom to tell the woman not to come back because I was very upset by the way he was being treated. I plan to visit him on Friday again, but at least I can see what's going on through the feeder.

Demo is fun. Taking chisel & mallet to the bricks behind my old stove. Will reuse bricks somehow outside. Get to try using a small jackhammer on the rest which are firmly attached to metal mesh. Always find it exciting & liberating to learn how to use a new tool!

I love demo and new tools tool. For both my kitchen remodels I did most of the demo and it was great fun.

Remembering a tragic accident 26 years ago that killed 4 of my classmates.I was supposed to go with them and backed out due to time with family.Went too fast around a corner and right into a tree.I knew the driver was a speed demon did get ticketed twice before this happened. The tree is no longer there, was cut down 2 months after the accident.

Feeling efficient this morning I got gas, stopped for breakfast and ran my car through the carwash. It wasn’t until a few minutes in that I felt a splash and realized my back window was a bit open. Now I not only have a clean exterior but my back seat upholstery got a wash as well. Dried it off as best I could when I got home but water just doesn’t evaporate well when its 30 degrees.

I did that once with a sunroof! 😭. Luckily I was using a manual wash.
I slept like crap last night but actually feel good. Maybe my body is finally like "just forget it. 5 hours of fragmented sleep is all we're gonna get."

If you aren’t taking Magnesium you should give it a try. I need at least 200 mg of Magnesium a day or I will wake up every hour all night.
