I have a bit of an emergency. Graham hasn't been eating and have been vomiting since yesterday when I got home. Before I left for work yesterday she was ok and when I got home at noon tine she was already sick! She was even playing with me yesterday morning. She is at the vet now with my hubby as I cannot be absent at work. Will respond and update you later.

this was how she was when I came home yesterday.

Sorry folks! Just a regular day here.
What was that? Cats please preserve us! It’s a Gremlin! What is Banjo doing?
A regular day is a blessing. 🤗 It means there's no crisis and all is quiet for the time being. 🤫

Oh no, Banjo is seeing gremlins too! She must be watching too many Twilight Zone episodes before bedtime.

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote Sending healing vibes your way for Graham. :vibes::vibes::vibes:

It is so great to come and see you here! We have all missed you so much! I always smile when I see you.
I never see/hear you anymore! I tried texting you on my new phone. :nono:

my step Dad and he was surprised but did (Science teacher)
Is your step Dad still alive? Or is he the Dad you always talk about?

It’s a Gremlin!
Banjo! Don't call your brother a Gremlin. Of course, they can be sometimes, can't they? ;)

I have a bit of an emergency. Graham hasn't been eating and have been vomiting since yesterday
Hope kitty feels better. :hugs:

Thanks Jcatbird Jcatbird . You know it was a tradition for awhile for young Japanese couples to honeymoon in Alaska and watch the Northern Lights. It was considered good luck. Also, that if they consumated their marriage under the Northern lights, then it was believed that their children would be blessed. The Northern lights is very fascinating to watch any which way.

My mother probably be in rehab for at least 2 weeks more. She is still dealing with soreness and having difficulty with the injured area.. When she comes home she will be using a walker. They say her injuries may take up to 10 weeks to heal. So for the older folks here, I strongly suggest to be extra careful, especially this time of the year. These falls can really be painful and set you back for quite a while.

Love the smiles Jcatbird. Keeps me in stitches. 😂

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote So sorry that Graham is not feeling well. Praying that she get back to her old self soon. :lovecat:

Yay! The weather is warming up. It was no picnic with helping the cats get through that brutally cold day. Also, garbage cans and garbage was flying all over. What a mess.
Well take care everyone. Hope all is well
❤

Our newbie Samson, rescued from a hoarder with a big heart. He had a mite and ringworm infestation but is all cleared up. He is pretty large for being under 1, and scares the other cats away when he bounds towards them to play.View attachment 443138
Have never quite seen a cat like that! Looks like he’s still getting the feel of things. Thank you for taking him in, I bet he’ll like the health care & stability & love. If cats could talk, I bet he’d tell you a lot. How many kitties do you have? I want to hear more about this one, as time goes on. ❤

He struck me, too. The coloring including the eyes, the long hair, the size. His paws don't look it here but they are huge. He is very vocal like my other orange, very affectionate. He flops down at our feet like our late calico girl used to, which is quite endearing to us. He acts a bit like a dog at times, and we wonder if there isn't some Maine Coon somewhere in there. He is one of 5 now... a tuxedo girl, two grey guys, two orange guys.

Samson is beautiful! he is lucky to have you.

Everyone, Graham is a bit better today. She ate a bit and is already "talking" back a bit when I speak to her. I believe she is already out of the woods as she is again "dropping dead" when I call her, although still not active as she was. She was given antibiotics shot and a med for her vomiting yesterday by the vet. Thanks to all who have sent her well wishes. Appreciate it.By next week it is her annual vaccine schedule.

The problem are the kids outside too. I suspect Graham ate something she must not. One time one of the kids also scared Graham, and made her running to me while meowing out loud. I immediately went out and confronted the kid, but he just ran away. Just yesterday this same kid was scaring Bourbon by yelling at her from outside the catio. But Bourbon did not budge, being a brave and feisty cat that she is. The kids don't know I am usually watching from the kitchen doors, which is like a one way mirror.

As for the kittens outside, I do hope somebody scooped them and brought them home. The 3rd kitty also has been missing for a day including the momma cat.I also observe that the momma cat is not that protective of the kitty anymore like before, so when I get the chance I'd try to catch kitty #3 before it goes forever missing like its siblings.

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote I am thinking that all the kitties are reacting to those kids. I had some bad kids around the rescues before they became rescues. I did not know that there was one other lady rescuing a few. It was years before she finally spoke up. I suspect that she may have saved a few kitties that I missed! Mitsy vanished and for a long time I thought she and her babies were gone. Like you, I worried. Cats are so smart! Mitsy was trying to lead the bad ones away. She pretended not to have babies and she hid them! She and her babies were okay. If that kid was yelling at Bourbon, he likely scared Graham. Poor Graham. Can you kind of block the kid from seeing them? Maybe just put a small barrier between the cats and kids? Too bad the kitties don’t have a one way mirror too. I am so glad that Graham is better!

Bri5 Bri5 Beautiful Samson! Perhaps there is a touch of one of the known breeds. Perhaps more than a touch! Whatever he is, he is beautiful and very lucky to have you. All five are very lucky! Hello Samson! 😺

Margot Lane Margot Lane I agree! It will be nice to hear updates about the new TCS kitty! Hopefully all healed up and having fun!

pearl99 pearl99 Ditto about sending good vibes and Graham! I’m glad that Banjo gave you a smile. :hugs:

strider rose strider rose Mackie can’t talk right now. He’s too busy rolling with laughter!

Whenallhellbreakslose Whenallhellbreakslose That’s very interesting about the Northern lights! I did not know that.:)

It sounds like your Mom has a ways to go but is getting there. Very glad she is healing. It’s true that everyone needs to be careful of injuries like that one. Big ouch!
Flying garbage? Ugh! It can’t be easy to do everything in that weather! The kitties are trying to hiss it away for you and send you some nice days. With smiles, of course!

M maggiedemi You texted? I do know that things have changed here a lot. You have missed a lot of what has been going on but we are all very grateful you are here! I hope all is good there! You can always look for me here but often I am elsewhere. Long, long story! Lol Hopefully that will all come out in the wash.

Banjo says to tell you that brothers can be Gremlins! How many Gremlins do you have?????
I do have a step Dad.
Regular days and ways and peace are the best! Sending hope for all peaceful days! So awesome that you are here!:hyper:

Their catio is just protected by chicken wires (and a wooden roof) which reminds me to change them asap as they are getting rusts. I wish I could install permanent one-way windows but the building owner allowed us to use wires only as it is actually a mini terrace fronting the side entry gate of the whole compound and residents are passing by there. I have two mini terraces and thinking of making a catio on the other one too next to the bedroom. But still, people would be going by there and that includes those kids. Bourbon cannot easily be frightened by anyone, and may in fact fight back if provoked. Those I am worried about are Graham and Barley, especially Barley who is a gentle creature. Graham is the most friendly and trusting one now and I was even thinking she was given something she should not have taken but anyway, I will ask my husband to make their catio more (nasty) child-proof. LOL.

I hope Graham would be 1000X better when I get home later. :)

Hugs to the kitties.

Maria Bayote Maria Bayote Hmmmm. I am trying to think of something that might be allowed as a barrier and not be disapproved by the building owner. Could you put the new chicken wire a bit further inside the first wall of wire? That would make it more difficult to throw anything in to Graham. Maybe chicken wire with smaller gaps in the mesh? Although Graham may well have just been scared, a distance between the kitties and the humans would give you more peace of mind. I faced some of the same worries and had to figure out obstacles too. I planted things outside my fence that helped but you cannot do that there. I planted climbing roses with thorns , pampas grass that has blades of itchiness and bamboo that formed a wall. The cats could go under and through but if a human tried it was uncomfortable. Not really harmful but not as easy as before. Nature had provided poison ivy in the woods too but when they pulled some up, they must have itched terribly later. Fortunately I am not sensitive to it. I guess I should have pulled it up?
I know the kitties love the catio but can they stay inside until you figure this out so you don’t worry? We’ll all try to think of something.
