Hi. I was just wondering what you spend on cat food a month. We have a kitten that I’m feeding on wet food and some dry. I’m still not sure if I’m doing both how much I should feed her of each. But the wet food is almost $100 a month

Even a cheap wet food is better than dry. That being said, Friskies shredded, which my cats like best, is .72 a can. Spend a little more on a good quality grain free dry. You feed what you can afford. In my younger days, about a thousand years ago, I fed what I could, i had way too many ferals. Meow Mix, Kit and Kaboodle, all dry, etc. It's better than nothing. People that tell you to feed the two or three dollar a can stuff can afford it. I can also tell you those cats lived just as long, with no problems, as they do now on the more expensive stuff. A starving cat is just grateful.......

Just my wet food is Aus$160 a month (about US$110). If I work out all the food it would be up around US$150.
But that's not very helpful as things are a lot more expensive in Australia.

I have to feed my cat an Rx food, canned. My other cat eats it as well. With my work discount, paying cost, plus 10%, I pay $320.00 a month.

Don’t ask how much the horse costs.

3 cats.

I buy one senior food at $11.99 and Arcana grasslands at $29.99. So let's say $45 for dry food but it lasts me 2 months.

The boys go through a case of wet food per week. Around $45 x4, so $180 if I can't catch a sale.

Total if no sales $200 per month.

Okay ow. That's where all my money is going 😹 Damn I miss being able to feed Purina dry.

Ugh - I thought it was $64/month, but I realized he eats a can and a half a day, so $96/month. Throw in two bags of crystal litter a month and suddenly I realize why I’m broke.

But the vet said his bloodwork shows early signs of kidney disease, and Science Diet was the lowest-phosphorus non-prescription food I could get him to eat.

I’m trying to save money in other ways like doing my own haircuts - his kidneys are more important than my hair.

T treeclimber I don't even want to know with litter factored in right now. 😹

Ugh. $31 a month for litter and $26x2 for pet insurance (old man doesn't have any, I didn't know better!) Another $83. Might as well add the $20 box of Churus and $10 for Temptations (I only grab on sale.

$313 per month.

Okay friends, they are officially cut off toy-wise 🤣

Betty White and the kitchen sink split four cans a day of prescription Hills I/D. She barely gets through her half can portions when they are fresh. She will snub them if they are leftovers. But hey! Better sharing with the sink than the carpet. So her approximately $250/mo food bill is still much better than those $1500 emergency vomit vet visits we had last year. (Two cases run me about $100 and last me 12 days at 4 cans a day. About five cases per month are needed. 😲🤦‍♂️) We're now on a "don't touch a thing" protocol with her vet until after she gets her dental done at the end of this month. I'm hoping to incorporate some more affordable (and easier to get) foods into her diet later this year after her dental.

$75 a month for dry ( a mixture of prescription and Orijen) and probably another $100 on wet (again, a mixture of prescription and higher quality wet.) Add in his meds (insulin and syringes) and I'm over $300 a month.

I’m around $130 for 3 cats eating a combo of wet and dry. Nobody is on prescription food. The dry is Purina One and the wet is an assortment of Friskies, Fancy Feast, Tiny Tiger, and Aldi brand.
