I bought two kittens from this breeder. I waited 18 months. I picked the kittens up in October. Lovely boys . I can barely write this post. I had them neutered in December and one died on the table. Dr said it was a.congential condition. The breeder didn't respond to me for 3 days. I have grave concern for the other kitten that survived. Currently he has an auto immune juvenile stomatis something like this a long title... Something painful but hopefully treatable. We are working thur this , but the past few days he can barley walk. We did blood test today and hopefully will figure out what he is suffering from. Stay away from this breeder. Just get a rescue cat. So devastated.

I am so sorry for your loss and your other kitten is sick too. It certainly doesn’t sound like that breeder is reliable since they didn’t even respond to you when you contacted them about the first kitten. I assume they did something to try to compensate you when they did reply?

A lot of breeders do advertise that they do testing for possible hereditary conditions but they also have a caveat in the contract that says that the guarantee to be free of hereditary conditions only lasts a brief amount of time. I have read this time and time again, so even when someone does the right thing and does the testing etc. that is not a guarantee one, that your cat is not going to have a problem and two, that it won’t be within the timeframe where the breeder will try to make it right.

Just a reminder of one of the forum rules:

I've removed the name of the breeder from this thread.
Hi! Stumbled upon this site and I'm also in the process of researching NFC catteries/breeders. Is there a way I can get the name of the breeder that was mentioned for my own learnings?

Hello! You can send a private message to one of the original posters and see if they reply. :)
