We finally finished all the autumn chores, e.g. raking, cutting back perennials, cleaning gutters, covering the patio furniture, disconnecting garden hoses so the faucets don't freeze and closing up the shed. Although my favorite season is almost over it felt good to get all the chores done. :fallsmiley:

I think I am done as well. But should there happen to be another 60 or even 50 degree day, I am sure I will be out there doing something.

I am on Day 2 of intermittent fasting and it's almost 10:30am which means I finally get to eat something. I thought yesterday was tough being up at 2:30am and not eating until 10:30am but today seems worse... and I've been busy as heck all morning. Time is going sooo slow today.

I know I have been a bit MIA lately. So many things going on (the biggest detailed in another thread), but things are calming down a little and I hope to be more active soon.

I have three positives to share.

The first: My husband and I had a lovely anniversary trip! A wedding party had rented out the rest of the castle and all the other rooms, so it was almost as if we were there by ourselves, which really helped with my anxiety. One of the board games we played took 4 hours. (I destroyed Middle Earth in the end!)I think I spent a total of 6 hours in the hot tub filled with bubbles. (My sleep schedule is not in sync with his and they do not have any internet access, so I had to do something!)

My next gallery show is approaching, and I have been making pottery and painting. I will post painting pictures soon, but here are a couple of pottery pieces. I am extra proud because I dug and processed the clay myself. The one with the holes is a candle holder/lantern.

And, finally, I am back to doing my compression therapy as well as taking my supplements for my lipedema. I am officially down from a size 16 to a size 10! It has "only" been 7 months, and I slacked a lot in the summer with the compression.

I am so glad you had a great time Elphaba09 Elphaba09 . After all you have been going through you needed it. And congrats on the change in size as well. I am a big pottery lover, and am crazy about the design on that bowl.

Thank you! It is a coil pot that I used a spoon handle on to make the design. I love all the colors it picked up in the pit.

DD and I went to a Christmas Market/Craft Fair today and I found some nice things. Some are gifts; some are gifts to me. ;)

There is a soap store about 45 minutes away that I get most of my soap from. I go maybe 2-3 times a year. They have been at the last few craft fairs and I picked up another 2 bars last weekend at one. (Sweet Potato pie soap smells amazing fyi!!)

So today I stopped by their table to ask the man about a fascial bar I’d been thinking of trying. He now recognizes DD and I. He ended up giving me the bar for free.:redheartpump:

DD and I went to lunch afterwards and the place was so empty we had our waitress to ourselves. She spoiled us too.:redheartpump:

I love pottery, there are so many different types of crockery and earthenware. Your design in the candle holder/lantern is especially unique. Thank you for posting these lovely pics.

And so happy your compression therapy had positive results.

Thank you! This is it lit up. I am making 60 smaller ones for my neighbor's daughter's wedding next September.

Thank you! Since I adore her daughter, they are a gift to her. She will be using LED candles since they are too small for regular ones.
So that is Raku? How fascinating… love the natural earth tones. Would love to know how long it cooks, and if you toss in anything to get those lovely colors!

Surprisingly, it is not raku!! It is a regular pit fire. Just cardboard, dried weeds, wood chips, and wood. I has to be something in the clay combind with where in the pit it was placed. It has a beeswax sealant on it.

Sorry to be posting again right after my own post, but I finished my latest painting about 10 minutes ago. The glare is pretty bad because it is still wet; however, you should be able to get an idea of what it looks like.We had a storm come through with mammantus clouds that were stunning. I used it as my inspiration.

"I Couldn't Hide from the Thunder" is the second in the "Sky Full of Song" series.

18 miles round trip to and from my clinic for lab work this morning. Usually no big deal except we are in the midst of a snowstorm. I debated canceling but my doctor appointment is Wednesday and I hate going in without knowing lab results. So I made the trek down side roads that were slippery but at least didnt have gunners going 50 mph. So thankful to be back home, finishing a puzzle and watching it snow.

Your painting is remarkable and the colors are so vibrant I couldn't stop staring at it - absolutely lovely. You are indeed talented. :goldstar:

I do the same thing when I see my doctor for my annual physical. I get labs a week before so I can discuss it with the dr. if there's any problem or concerns. Glad you made it home safely. 👍
